I had one of the most frustrating fast-food experiences of my life at the Popeyes on 317 Kimberly Avenue in New Haven, CT, and I will never return to this location. I placed a mobile order exactly as instructed, waited several minutes before entering the drive-thru, and paid in full. From the moment I arrived, it was clear the staff had no interest in resolving a very basic issue.
Despite having a confirmed order, receipt, and payment, I was told they “couldn’t find” my order and then that they “couldn’t make it.” No attempt was made to verify the receipt properly, no effort was made to simply remake the food, and no solution was offered on the spot. Instead, I was treated as if I had done something wrong, even though the failure was entirely on their end.
What made this worse was the attitude. The staff was dismissive, unhelpful, and spoke to me like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. There was zero accountability and zero customer service. Any other competent business would have made the order immediately once payment was confirmed. This location chose to do nothing.
Because of their system failure, I was told I now have to wait up to 48 hours for a refund for food I never received. That is unacceptable. Customers should not be penalized because a store’s machines or processes are broken. If you take someone’s money, you either give them their food or resolve it immediately.
This location is poorly managed, poorly trained, and clearly unconcerned with customer experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this Popeyes altogether. There are plenty of other places that understand the bare minimum of customer service. Until management cleans house and retrains this staff, save your money and go somewhere else.

Ordered delivery late at night, there weren’t many other options so I went with this place. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I ordered at 1145pm and watched as different drivers attempted to pick up my food and then would drive away without it. No notice from popeyes, no notice from door dash, just received a text message over an hour later that “per my request” my order was canceled. So now its close to 1am and nothing available around me for quick delivery. POPEYES SUCKS! Do not order here if you value your hard earned money

So this the second time I’ve gone for early lunch. Both times a little after 10AM- as shown on the picture it says the host is Mohammed but it is actually a young woman whose fair skinned always wearing a mask, I am describing her as I don’t know her name she has dark brown hair usually in a pony tail.
She’s is extremely rude and disrespectful.
I asked for honey and she just closed her window I then knocked and told her I asked for honey, she says “well u gotta speak up bc I can’t hear” I said “you shouldn’t have closed your window so soon” she continued to make remarks and I proceeded to tell her she sucked and she replied with “you suck too”
I used to LOVE this location until she started working there. She has a miserable demeanor and presents herself dishonorably, getting some food shouldn’t involve this level of disgrace, I don’t think she should be working in customer service as she is VERY rude.

I stopped here for a crispy version of The Sandwich. In the past, they were good here, but Not this time.
Popeyes is my go-to place when it comes to crispy fried chicken.
This location isn’t too far from the interstate highway.
On my most recent visit, I ordered my usual (Spicy Chicken Sandwich) and it was GROSS! There was some weird, unrecognizable substance on my sandwich. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice this foreign matter until I was fairly deep into my sandwich. It was a strange texture and tasted bland – I think. I was shocked and spit it out. WTH!
Note to self – Do Not Go To This Location Ever Again!
I wish I knew what was on my sandwich, why it was there, and who put it there?
