Looking for a low-key place to have some drinks at the bar, or feast with the family at a table, this is a great place to do so with perfectly prepared and delicious seafood, attentive and friendly service, and won’t empty your wallet. Many fresh daily specials are on the board and all-you-can-eat crab legs is an everyday special. Get the mac and cheese as your side, trust me. Key lime pie was done right. Perfect place if you don’t want a “party bar”, lousy “family restaurant” food, or an expensive fine dining bill.

Service was absolutely outstanding. We brought our own catch in and they were eager to cook it beyond our expectations! They also made accommodations to prepare it so my girlfriend who is 7 months pregnant could also enjoy it. Sal was extremely welcoming and made us feel at home. Took the time to give us recommendations on things to do in the area during the cold weather. Also, hands down best key lime pie we’ve had in the Florida Keys! We will definitely be back next visit! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Great food and cozy atmosphere. The Mahi was delicious and light, the chimichurri steak was yummy and citrusy, and the fries were great. Very good key lime pie as well. Only thing I’d say was it seemed a bit understaffed as there was no one at the door to greet us, so we just stood around for a few minutes until the server came to seat us.

Best seafood in keys that we had. Super fresh and well seasoned seafood dishes.
The service was not ideal as the food came very late and we didnt get water until we are done although we reminded them a few times. However, the food was so amazing that we can ignore the service!

Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Cast Iron Mahi & the Lobster both excellent. Sweet potato casserole as well as the roasted mushrooms five stars. Worth a stop for both lunch and dinner.

We are visiting from out of state and I wanted crab legs! I’m not a big fish eater but the Mahi Mahi was cooked so well and was wonderful. The best was the Churrasco steak. We got it medium rare. It was incredible. The sweet potato casserole side and the green beans were perfection. The atmosphere and service was really good as well. Definitely worth going!

We have been coming to the keys for several years, and decided to try a place we had not yet been to. Ballyhoos did not disappoint. Mahi is our go to, but the yellowtail was suggested prepared Hemingway style. It was the best fish we have had in the keys! Give this place a try if staying or passing through key largo…we will definitely be back!

Highly recommend this Key Largo gem. The food was all very delicious. The key lime butter for the lobster- wow! The macaroni and cheese was incredible. The key lime pie was great but the peanut butter pie absolutely stole the show.

We loved Sal’s Ballyhoo’s!!! Ronnie was our waiter, and he really knows the menu and what to recommend. Sal is the owner and chef. We had the grilled avocado, pretzel bread with jalapeño jelly, lobster tail topped with crab cake, amd the steak. Key lime pie was AMAZING. We’ll definitely stop here on our next trip to the Keys.

If you’re in town and wondering where to go for great food, friendly people and just an all around enjoyable experience this is the place. We arrived on 2/9/26 and being 2/12 now we wished we had gone to this place sooner. We will definitely be returning here in future visits to key largo. Don’t let yourself be disappointed at other establishments just go here I promise you will not be disappointed.
