We have been going to Galvan’s for about 11-12 years now and as of lately it’s been going down hill on service. Now, don’t get me wrong, we love our “build your own” skillets, but this morning took the cake and probably changed our minds for breakfast go to places. You see, we come in and IF the owner is there he greets us with a handshake and gets us coffee/drinks. But he hasn’t been there the last 5-10 times we’ve been there and this morning was it. I can understand oversite, but lying to cover your oversite is over the top. I literally seen our skillets placed up by the cook and 2 different waitresses check the tickets to see if it was their tables while our waitress was chatting away and cleaning, then checking on other customers, then go back behind the counter and totally ignore our plates under the lamps. More than 5 minutes later, she finally grabbed them. Now for the kicker. When she asked how was everything I told her “cold”, that’s when she, without missing a beat, flat out lied and said she seen the food just placed there before she grabbed it. Even under the eggs was cold. That was when we asked for boxes and paid for our meal and left. I am VERY disappointed with how the service has gotten and it really sucks because up until about a year ago, Galvans has been our favorite breakfast spot, now we’re looking elsewhere and never returning.

Probably my favorite diner in the area. I usually tend towards places that are a little more focused – cafes, smash burgers, some kind of specific cuisine, that sort of thing. But I still really like a good diner for breakfast, and Galvan’s probably has the best scrambled eggs I have had anywhere, apart from a little hole-in-the-wall place in downtown Chicago. Be aware that it can get a little busy depending on time of day. Pictured: one of the breakfast combos and a waffle. Some of my favorites are the skillets and the breakfast burrito.

Overall service was great. The restaurant is a little dated and could use a refresher. The prices were pretty good for the food that you received, and the overall quality was good. The booths are certainly not meant for six average size people and I would recommend going to a table. Certain things on the menu seem to be better than others. The large gyros and small gyros seem to be the same size, so avoid getting the bigger one. It was a waste of a couple dollars. It was an average experience each time I went.

This is a great to go place for breakfast or lunch. My husband gets the Cinco De Mayo salad, he loves it its great and has a homemade salad dressing and these crispy strips on top. If you haven’t tried it you should. If your a salad eater. You’ll love it. All the waitresses and the hostesses are great. So friendly and you can tell they all love there jobs. Its a great place to work because there us hardly ever any change to waitresses. Its like a family in there. It is owned by a family and they are also working and really care about there resturant and customers.

UPDATE: I visited on 10/5/24 and was so disappointed in my go-to place. The welcoming smiles and tone in used to were missing. Food took way longer than usual. The food and coffee were of lesser quality than usual. Omelet was overcooked and lacked meat, and coffee was watered down. The cashier said every restaurant does gyro omelets different, trying to brush off my comments. No buddy, you all are cheaping out. I’ve been here enough in the past to know when the quality of a plate has changed.

This place was awesome. It’s so awesome, in fact, that I went the next morning as well. The food was tasty, the service was outstanding, the prices were decent, and the coffee was good. All around, a great place for a solo meal or family meal. Highly recommend.

Classic breakfast spot. None of the food was impressive, but it was decent. What really put me off was the manager that was criticizing his staff repeatedly in front of the customers. He was standing in the front prep area 4-5ft from customers and was arguing with his staff about scheduling almost the entire time I was dining.

Super good place for breakfast, however, it gets crowded pretty quickly, so either get there early or be prepared ro wait.

We came here on a Sunday morning when there was a soccer tournament nearby so it was pretty busy. The service was okay, although the restaurant was pretty crowded with the amount of tables in there. The food was pretty good! My group liked the biscuits and gravy, the burger, and the frittata.

I love this place! It’s a welcoming atmosphere with friendly and speedy (but not rushed) service and good food. It’s one of my favorite breakfast places and I recommend everyone try it at least once. It has a good location off of Highway 441 that’s easy to get into. It has a nice small feel balanced with ample parking, making this a convenient and well-balanced dining experience.

They really should warn you that the omelet is 4 eggs! Huge, and a matching pile of hash browns to go with it. We’ll do a split plate next time.
