Hank’s Dairy Bar has been my go-to spot for years, and it never fails to deliver a great experience from start to finish. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just craving a sweet treat on a summer day, Hank’s is the place to be.
During my most recent visit, I ordered the clam cakes, clam chowder, fish and chips, and a cheeseburger — and as always, everything was delicious. The clam cakes were crispy and flavorful, the chowder was hearty and rich, and the cheeseburger was cooked perfectly with that classic, no-frills taste that hits the spot every time. The fish and chips dinner came with a fresh roll, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. My only small complaint is the portion size of the tartar sauce — if you enjoy a generous amount of sauce with your fish like I do, you might find yourself wishing for a bit more. But overall, everything was cooked to perfection and served hot.
Hank’s is more than just great food — it’s the atmosphere. The parking lot is spacious with more than enough spots, which makes it incredibly convenient. Even on hot summer days when it gets busy, the line moves quickly and the staff handles everything with efficiency and friendliness. It’s a great place for families, friends, or just to hang out for a casual bite.
They also have a small arcade area for kids, which adds a nice touch and keeps the little ones entertained. Whether you’re catching up with friends, grabbing lunch on your own, or bringing the whole family, Hank’s offers a welcoming, laid-back environment that fits every need.
Even if you’re not in the mood for a full meal, Hank’s has a great selection of sweet treats like ice cream and milkshakes — perfect for cooling down on a warm day. The drive there is simple and smooth, especially if you’re coming from Jewett City. It’s an easy, worthwhile trip that always ends in satisfaction.
Would recommend 10/10. A classic summer stop with amazing food, great service, and an unbeatable local charm.
Today is sunny and warm… a perfect day for a country drive and a perfect chance for me to try Hank’s. I came for lunch this trip and was not disappointed. The food is excellent, the portions generous, the service fast and friendly, and the prices reasonable.
Hank’s is a place I will want to return to again and again!
Dble bacon cheeseburger
Med fries and 2 med drinks.
Came to $32 and change (if you pay cash you get a discount)
Food came in a reasonable amount of time, they were pretty busy but they seem to have a pretty good working rhythm.
We sat in our truck and ate our supper.
The chowder was absolutely delicious
The burger and fries were OK according to my grandson (he said Ruby Tuesday smash burgers were better) my fish and chips was OK, the fish batter could have a tad more seasoning. It came with a delicious and super soft roll, a lemon wedge, tarter sauce, fries (good but I like mine a little crispier) and coleslaw. The coleslaw was super interesting, very peppery and zero vinegar. At first I was a little taken aback but, as I ate it, it was really quite good. My grandson went back up for a chocolate twist cone which he said was deeeeelicious!
We were happy when we left and will definitely return to try other stuff on their menu.
We split a hot fudge sundea. Not bad, soft serve, nuts, whipped cream, chopped walnuts and a cherry.
The grounds are very clean and presentable. It’s a comfortable place to gone at the of dusk. It a relaxing retro atmosphere. Oldies music is playing. Mixed crowd, families and couple older and younger.
