We were on the road traveling and needed to stop for lunch. We like to try local spots as opposed to big name chain restaurants whenever possible. This place had great reviews! Originally, we were going to order online but decided to wait until we arrived. When you first walk in, the wall on the left was covered in awards and accolades. It seems to be a family run business.
Since we had already looked at the menu in the car, we were able to place our orders quickly. The only downside to our experience (and the reason for the one point deduction) was the wait. We watched people come and go while we waited over 30 minutes for our food. It was a little frustrating to say the least. Once our food was finally done, we headed to the car to eat while we got back on the road.
Thankfully everyone was very pleased with their food. It was well worth the wait!
Pro-tip: Order ahead online if you are in a hurry.

Good value. Spent $20 on a whole chicken, three sides…can’t beat it. Nice wood infused roasted chicken.
Delicious sides all around…definitely worth it and all the sides were tasty.
Yucca fries were nice, fluffy and crispy. Plantains were sweet and cooked through and chicken was nicely flavored with charcoal / wood.

Al Carbon is a great restaurant to get delicious food with diverse flavor and even more diverse menu I was lucky enough to try their Peruvian chicken, cilantro rice, Mac and cheese, sweet potato, and to mary all the flavors their delicious yellow and green sauce! Sadly when I went there I was unable to try their plantains because they were all out but I would expect them to be delicious as well. This is definitely a restaurant to come visit if you’re in the area and a great place to take the whole family!

Tried this place today and really enjoyed it the staff were very friendly and let me practice my spanish. The food is delicious. We also enjoyed some flautas, the sandwiches and the chicken. Good fresh food with a chill atmosphere and quick service. Definitely recommend coming for the chicken and horchata!

My husband and I stopped in here on our recent vacation and we were not disappointed! The chicken was unbelievable, and I loved the street corn as well. Amazing salsas. Delicious whole chicken, rotisserie style and cut into six pieces. Yellow rice was a hit. Mac and cheese was alright. The fries were good for a chicken place. Pleasant open floor seating, cafe style. Open kitchen so you can see chicken cooking and food prep. Variety of alcohol is available. Parking can be challenging.

I love this place and everytime we visit my mom we order the family meal. But tonight the chicken was raw and uncooked and we had to throw much of it away. Unfortunately, we cant drive back to return and exchange as we are heading back home to Virginia Beach. 🙁

The chicken here is REALLY good. They cook it on a rotisserie and you can literally taste the smoked flavor that the flames give it. I highly recommend trying any of their chicken here. I got the flautas- I was worried that 4 flautas wouldn’t make me feel full, but it is definitely enough for a meal. Also, I recommend their chicken burrito. I’m not usually a fan of burritos (I prefer tacos or enchiladas), but this burrito is well made, has a delicious sauce, and is quite filling. Also, they have good horchata – which I LOVE.
Overall food is well-made and good quality. I recommend calling ahead because the wait times aren’t exactly a quick turnaround.

Casual place, order at the register and they call your number when the food is ready. Very fast service but don’t let that fool you. Prices are average, food is fresh and plentiful. The food was outstanding. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the flautas were perfect. I will be spending quite a bit more time here.
