Best burger and fry or onion ring combo in college station, damn near best in Texas! They offer a ton of different options other than burgers that are all good and have great beer deals! The atmosphere is a hole in the wall feeling with a small country town vibe, carved out tables, floors that have seen better days, neon signs and deer heads cover the walls, it’s a hard place to beat! I went once or twice a week when I was in Cstat and now will visit every time I come back!

It was a place I really wanted to visit because of its fame, but I’m not sure the food was as delicious as I expected. The prices were also higher than I thought. However, the atmosphere was amazing—it felt like I was in a Western movie!

My daughter and I stopped by because it was recommended to us. We dropped by for lunch during the summer on a visit to A&M, so it wasn’t crowded at all. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. The food was good and the place itself is a whole vibe. I would love to come back when it’s more lively and check out that experience.

Definitely had the dive bar/burger joint down pretty well. My Aggie had his first meal here five and a half years ago and after graduation we went for a farewell meal. Don’t ask about the timeline… Anyway, we had a great congratulatory meal. They had a huge line on a Thursday, but it went very fast and the place easily swallowed the crowd. Don’t let a line intimidate you. The two cashiers were rocking and very engaged. The guy who handed out our food was superb! Really cool guy and I wish I could name him. I was “that guy”. We go to a burger joint and I ordered the fried catfish platter. In my defense, I went all in and also got a cup of superb chili. If I were to paint a picture of an iconic Texas style chili – this would have been it. The cool slaw was spot on. The fried catfish was a bit “brief”, but the ton of fries made up for it. The only off thing was that my cocktail sauce seemed to be frozen. Or, I HOPE it was frozen. That was weird, strange and unnecessary. Besides that, the stop would have been a true five star event. Definitely recommend. Just go with a burger…

This place is a classic! I talked to a professor from Texas A&M and the original Koppe Bridge was built long before the town of college station expanded. You can notice that the building looks quite a bit different than the surroundings and I got to say you can taste the history! Has that classic flavor of a HomeTown staple, I have a few sandwich shops at home that definitely remind me of this spot. It’s easy to see how it’s a favorite for the locals and visitors. They cut their fries fresh. Kind of remind me of In-N-Out fries, but much crispier. I didn’t get a chance to try the onion rings but those looked killer as well. This place is awesome and if I’m back in town I will definitely hit it up again.

We came here a lot before the COVID-19 pandemic because they had the best burgers in town, no doubt. Their fries are also really good and have a nice crispiness to them. However, something changed after 2020 with their burgers, and I guess I get it, money got tight. The burgers may have been frozen or I don’t know what. We stopped coming. But then we gave it another shot after over 2 years of nothing, and I am glad to report they have returned to the fresh burger patties from before! This is awful for my wallet but so good for my belly. I ordered the 1/2 pound burger with cheese and fries and it was the heavenly beef I once knew. My wife got the same and couldn’t finish hers. My kids got the grilled cheese with fries, which drives me crazy because I could make that at home in less then 2 minutes and for WAY cheaper. But kids will be kids. We all got drinks (no beer) as well and it came out to around $55. The girls at the front weren’t particularly friendly but the cooks in the back are always extremely helpful and polite. Any dumb questions I throw their way and they always answer promptly with a smile. Like, “Where is the ketchup?” To which I found out they have about 15 FULL containers right there near the cash registers. Whoops! This place also has pool tables in the back but we’ve never played here. We always sit outside when the weather is nice like it was last weekend. They have plenty of tables out there and the kids can run around and get some energy out. They have a speaker outside so you can still hear your order. This place is great and we will be back — just waiting on my paycheck!

The service when ordering is great. Kitchen service is a little off. The food is good, but the appetizers are something that need work. The prices and portions are off and definitely not worth it.
We had the famous burger. It was good, but not award winning or fantastic. Much better burgers all around college station and the rest of Texas.
Very cool atmosphere, sitting at a former President’s favorite table was a cool experience. Very cool vibe and a cool place to be.
Overall, they deserve a 3.5 star rating. Definitely worth a visit, the food is good. Also, the burger and fries were a very nice portion.

If the food didn’t cost $35.00 + $5.00 tip for two I’d rate it much higher. They are known and won awards for their burgers. I thought their burgers were mediocre at best. Service was below avg. Atmosphere is great. Overall disappointed. The burger 1/3 pound with cheese jalapenos was $13.00. it was $10.49+ .40 cents to add the cheese and jalapenos (which I didn’t get)… It was a wopping $2.50 to SUBSTITUTE the fries for onion rings which SERVICE didn’t reiterate. There weren’t any prices on their beers. I think a bottled blue moon was like $4.00. Their ice machine on the self-service soda machine has black mold in it. Sweet Tea no ice was good.
So burger onion rings + chicken fries + sweet tea + beer = $34.00.
Restrooms and the location itself was kept clean.
I don’t think I’ll be back.
Overall 3.8/6

Come out of CS proper and find this place. Quintessential old school CS burger-bar place, still family friendly though. The atmosphere is comfy, service friendly and fast. Try the burger basket and huge chicken fried steak. 4-stars because the tables felt sticky even though the wait staff cleaned up immediately after everyone left.
