If you’re trying to plan a fun night out without spending a fortune, you definitely need to check out Apache XLR (the original Apache Cafe for my fellow Atlanta OGs ). It’s such a solid spot for an affordable but quality experience.
We went on a weekday for the “Color Me Out Loud” night, and the midweek energy was just right — chill but still lively. Live jazz mixed with a DJ? Yes please! The combo created the perfect vibe where you can relax, nod your head to the music, and still feel that upbeat atmosphere.
And let’s talk about the price — only $10 total for two people to get in! That alone is a win. They do have a 2-drink or 1-entrée minimum per person, but honestly, it’s worth it. We ordered the honey chicken with potatoes and Brussels sprouts, and the chef absolutely delivered ✨ The food came out hot, fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly fast.
The waitstaff was super friendly and welcoming, which always makes the experience even better. There’s paid parking right across the street, so it’s convenient too. Overall, it’s a great low-cost date night or casual outing spot with good music, good food, and good vibes. ✨

We visited Apache on Friday (Dec 12th) to celebrate my sister’s birthday. It was R&B night and the talent was outstanding. I love that they give local artists a platform to display their talent. The host was J.Ira and not only could he sing, but he was funny too! The venue is not too big but it’s intimate enough where you feel the vibes flowing. The service was great and waitresses made sure our glasses were full. The food was just what we needed and the jerk wings were a hit! They were flavorful and what the kids say these “tendernism”. We also had the fried pork chops which were seasoned perfectly and although thin cut, they were not lacking moisture. Overall, if you’re looking for a chill, laid back vibe, with good music and good food, this place should be on your list. We’ll definitely be back.

Date night to Apache XLR for their Sensual Fridays for my dates birthday. I was excited to go here being that I’m coming from and live in the DMV. I bought the tickets for the table for two along with the additional charge for the general admissions on eventbrite (I hear they nickel and dime you for everything in ATL). Beautiful venue and amazing talent, but after ordering our drinks and a side of fries since the food wasn’t speaking to us, we wanted to order another side of fries but the waitress came back and told us we were only allowed to order fries with an entree. So my date ordered a shrimp basket and another round of drinks. At this point I’m working on my second Cadillac margarita. At the end when the bill comes out, there is an up charge for Henny being added to my Cadillac margaritas which I NEVER asked for nor was it included in my drink. I asked the waitress about it and she said she would take it off. She handed the bill back to my date and told me that Henny had indeed NOT been added to my margarita and I’m thinking the charge is gone. WRONG. They decided to keep the charge on the bill and unbeknownst to me kept the additional charge on the bill. It was a small charge but after the incident with the fries, I can’t help but feel like this was done intentionally. Although the charge was minor it was enough for me to express my distaste to never return to the venue on any future visit to ATL which is unfortunate considering I did thoroughly enjoy all of the performances. If they had more options for food I would have ordered something of substance. He really enjoyed himself for his birthday, but please CHECK your bills before paying.

This place is a vibe. The best fish shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. This place was steady in customers. Loved I didn’t hear over talking, the live music put the experience to tier to me. There wasn’t a wait to be seated, the hostess and waiter were both kind and attentive. Would definitely come here again. Oh yeah the cheese cake was perfect and the fresh strawberries were an excellent added taste.

False advertising at its finest. The flyer promised a Tuesday Night “Live Hip-Hop & RnB Open Mic “with a live band, bars, and vocals—but almost an hour in there was no band, just recycled artists rapping over tracks.i got here at 9pm an hour after they promised to start! My friend’s food only came after I complained, and the place was nearly empty. Paid $10 to park and $15 to get in for what turned out to be a boring, unorganized night. Total waste of time and money.

Where do I begin… let’s start with paying $20 for paking. Paid $75 for a show that was suppose to start at 8pm that didnt start until 9:30p. No one was prepared, as if they threw the show together that day. Some artist didnt even show up. As we stand in line waiting for a table we were told that its an entree and 2 drink minimum per guest. Waited almost 45 min for my meal to arrive at the table only to wait another 5 minutes for utensils. I ordered the fish and grits. By the time I was able to taste my food it was cold and the fish taste like it was fried in old grease. I asked if I could exchange for a different food item, the manager explained that all food sales were final and stated that she tasted the food from the kitchen herself and didn’t find anything wrong with the taste lol. But I could tell from the way she was dressed that her taste and mine weren’t the same lol. Her attitude was terrible from the moment she approached our table. There are so many other entertainment establishments in Atlanta with better food and top tier customer service, dont waste time and money here. Definitely will not be returning.

We are a group of 100 nurses traveling from South Florida. We were able to book out the restaurant for a private event on a Thursday evening. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional! Always asking if everything was ok or if we needed anything. The food was phenomenal! Fried and baked chicken, sautéed shrimp, Mac & Cheese, Alfredo pasta, salad, tres leches and strawberry cake. Everything was absolutely delicious! Even the tres leches got remarks that it tasted better than most people have had in Miami, and that’s saying a lot. Thank you Apache XLR for a memorable evening. We will be sure to remember you when we come back to town!
