Tonight, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. I had the Tacos al Pastor, which are simple and so good with pork shoulder, pineapple, cilantro and onion – they are served with a hot sauce, rice and beans. And, can I just say the rice and beans alone are delicious enough to be your meal. My husband had the special dinner which included a Chile relleno, tamal, enchilada, taco, chalupa, rice and beans. Needless to say, he ate some of that dinner–LOVED the Chile relleno. The atmosphere is really charming too – artwork on the walls and great music. Our server, Marvel, was attentive, kind and kept our beverages refilled.

Mixed review here, but they shine where it counts! Service was good, atmosphere is what you’d expect. But I’ll be honest, I don’t love their chips or salsa or margaritas. The chips taste like they’re out of a bag, the salsa is pretty much tomato sauce. And I was kind of disappointed by mango margarita as well. Even the fried ice cream was meh. BUT, I had the Polli Poblano as an entree, and it was amazing! The chicken was tender, the veggies and sauce were delicious and the refried black beans were the best refried beans i’ve ever had!
Moral of the story… skip the chips and salsa, the drink, even the dessert, and save room for the entrees, where they shine!

Today, I went to eat a Los Tres Amigos in Northville, Michigan. My ser was Marcel and lets just sat he lived up to the name and was Marvelous. He was very attentive when it came to any needs that I had. I’m a big drinker of water & constantly need refills. He was all over it & did it that without me asking. The food was excellent. I had the jalapeno poppers. My friend had the lunch special for the fajitas, which was the same size as a dinner entree but just half the price, absolutely amazing. The two of us wonderfully for lunch & at $10 or less, a person. We will definitely be back. Look forward to seeing marvel again.

We came on a weekday, so it was quiet. The starters and main course were great. The portion sizes were generous and tasted very good. Our server, Mildred, was very attentive throughout the evening. If there was a letdown, it was the desserts. The churritos were not evenly crispy, had a bit of a chewiness to it. The flan tasted great. Both deserts could have done without the whipped cream, sprinkles and chocolate sauce it came with.

What a ridiculous experience! When we walked in, the restaurant had about 10 full tables. First, we waited around 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, even though there were staff close by. Once we were sat, it took about 10 minutes for a server to greet us/bring chips. We ordered 2 sodas and an appetizer. We had to go up to the bar to ask for our drinks after waiting 7-8 minutes after we placed our drink order. I wish we had gotten up and left at this point, but we were starving and figured it would get better. 6-7 minutes later, the Queso Fundido was served. It was disgusting – weird, congealed cheese, and dry clumps of chorizo on top. We weren’t given any small plates to use. We had to go back up to the bar again for own refills on our drinks. Our food comes out, with 2 sides of beans and no rice (which we did not ask for.) We had to flag down our server/anyone we could find to ask from the correct side for our meal. Meals were terribly bland and on the cool side. The waitress did come back once to check on us (a few bites into our meals), but when we had finished eating, we had to get up again and go the host stand (and wait for someone to come by) to ask for carryout boxes and the check. More waiting – another 8-9 minutes before she returned to take care of the check. Honestly, I should have refused to pay. The service was horrendous and the food wasn’t much better. We will never return.
