The place is a throwback to an old school cantina with spacious dining hall, a bar and laidback ambience.
The host owns the place and it shows. She was super friendly and makes the whole dining experience a nice homely affair.
The food is awesome. We had the usual fajitas, tacos and chile rellanos- all hit the spot. They also freely accept any off-menu orders.
Tip: the place appears close from the curbside even if it isn’t. Lot of winds, so get warm before you step out of the car.
There is a nice walkable downtown area if you want to walk your dog around.

My first time at El Palacio and their food is so delicious and Tina our server was so friendly and very accomodating. My main course was the Chile Relleno and it was awesome. I will highly recommend this place for Lunch and dinner when you go through Kingman AZ

We went in excited to see a historic building but was hit with a historic smell? The whole place smells like sewer and musty air, I was surprised by the prices being large and the “lunch sizes MINI”. (I compared to the other mexican restaurant in town.) My partner and I left. My opinion Big prices, Little portions and Weird smells… Beware 🙂

The food was delicious. The salsa was the bomb. The bean dip they give you with the chips were great better then the chips I got with my main course. The service was excellent. Made us feel like we were family.

Love that they give you salsa and bean dip when you’re seated. My husband loved the desert burrito with chicken. My daughter’s chimichanga was not fried enough- it lacked the crispy shell, but the chicken inside was tender. I got the a la carte #2, with a chili relleno and a spinach enchilada. It was delicious. Prices seemed similar to what we found on the west coast.

Our server was friendly and kind. We visited from the northeast coast, and wanted an authentic Mexican dining experience. The restaurant is in a beautiful historic building that is brightened up with a cheerful color palette. The hand made chips, salsa, and bean dips were so delicious that we could’ve just eaten that. The avocados on the salad and in the guacamole were perfectly ripe, soft, and tasty. The red sauce is sweet and savory- exactly what I was hoping for when I added it to my enchilada order. The 6 of us visitors loved everything we tried, and got wonderful service from a very attentive and sweet server. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice meal while stopping in Kingman.

They sang to my husband Happy Birthday and he got a free fried ice cream it tastes delicious. All in all It was a great night. The atmosphere was good and the place was pretty packed in there. The price was reasonable.

The service was top shelf. I went in for lunch with a party of 12+. We sat in the back party room. One waitress for us all but she was on it. Plenty of parking considering it was lunch time. No outside seating. Chips and two types of dip (bean and salsa) started us off. I got the enchilada salad. Never heard of it. There is a lunch specials menu. It’s hard to miss as it’s separate from the larger menu they also give you. It wasn’t my all time favorite meal. I didn’t finish it. I’d go back and try something else.
