Stopped in while traveling for work and this spot did not disappoint! Every detail is meticulous down to the cucumber in the water- very refreshing!
The salsa to start is the perfect restaurant style salsa! I ordered the guacamole as well which was fresh, flavorful, and well made. I had the Ma Caulli special – comes standard with chicken and shrimp as well as veggies. This was delicious and had an abundance of protein, which I was pleasantly surprised with!
My server, Lalito, was charming, funny, and extremely attentive during my visit. I appreciate great service when I see it!
I would definitely return and recommend 10/10.

We always enjoy the wonderful service, and the food is consistently delicious. The Guacamole and Pollo Chipotle are especially outstanding. Our favorite servers—Beto, Ahmed, Junior, and Lalito—take such great care of us. The host/hostesses always honor our request to sit away from the windows. We highly recommend MaCualli.

I’m from Denver and visit rapid city often for work. I always have to come eat here! I usually get the birria tacos and they are so so so good! The staff has always been friendly and the atmosphere is great. They also have great drinks! The salsa and guacamole are both really good!

All was great — the food, service, and the relaxed, casual atmosphere. We ordered the Carne Asada, Shrimp Street Tacos, and Tres Enchiladas, along with an order of freshly prepared guacamole. Everything was super good! The flavors were authentic, the portions generous, and the guacamole tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience enjoyable. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!

The chips and salsa were very good to start. The guacamole is made to order, very fresh and great flavor. The star of the show were the beef birria tacos. Tons of tender, flavorful shortrib. Very flavorful. The beans and rice were great as well. 4 stars because we went on a Saturday night where the wait was over an hour. Also, service was good but did take a little long just because of how busy they were. Might need a little more staff to help with tables. Overall it was great and recommend.

Ma Cualli has been open for a while and I was finally able to go check it out. My dining companion & I were greeted in a very friendly and welcoming way when we walked in and were able to be seated right away. Our server was attentive and friendly with our meals coming out very quickly. The salsa was very good and is on the mild side. The guacamole was fantastic and was my favorite thing. Hands down best guacamole in Rapid City. I thought the entrees were just okay and were on the bland side. I loved the stainless steel cups & the lemon slice that was added to the water cup. They offer margarita flights & I will be back for that & that guacamole!

Wow! This place is fantastic, fresh delicious Mexican food. House margarita was perfect lime blend and huge fun glass. Celebrated out granddaughters birthday here with family. Everyone enjoyed their meal, portions are generous. Great guac!

We had a last minute large family gathering at Ma Cualli for dinner this past week.
When I say everything was 10/10 I mean it.
The service, the efficiency, the timing of drinks and food, not a single dish came out wrong, everything was beyond delicious and our server (Ahmed) was his name I believe was friendly, attentive and terrific at what he does.. as was the rest of the staff who assisted with our large bunch.
Wish I had taken photos of all the amazing food but here’s the fam instead:)
