I ordered the wings meal for 2 for takeout. I ordered classic tenders, garlic parmesan wings, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. Everything was very bland. The signature sauce helped the flavor, but none was tasty. The coleslaw taste was off, not sure if it went bad or that was the taste it was supposed to be, but it was very limp. The biscuit was dry too. I was unsatisfied and ended up with food poisoning for 2 days.

I visited the Popeyes located at 831 Main Ave in Passaic, NJ and experienced a serious food safety issue involving the Sweet Heat Sauce. There were visible bugs inside the sauce container, and some had already been consumed before they were noticed.
The situation was brought directly to the manager’s attention in a calm and private manner. Instead of acknowledging the issue, apologizing, or offering a resolution, the manager immediately took the sauce and threw it away. When questioned, she stated there was nothing they could do if it “came like that” and that it was out of their control.
No refund, replacement, or store credit was offered. The concern was not about compensation it was about accountability and proper handling of a food safety issue. The interaction escalated unnecessarily, and law enforcement was contacted instead of management properly addressing the contamination concern.
This is a public health matter, not simply a customer service complaint. A formal complaint has been filed, and I hope this location is properly investigated to prevent this from happening to someone else.

I’ve been to MANY Popeyes, and I will happily travel across counties, timelines, and dimensions for this one. The chicken here actually tastes fresh and seasoned on the inside — not that sad, soggy, “wet chicken” situation some Popeyes be serving . If you know, you KNOW.
I’ve tried giving other locations chances because I’m a fair person… but nope. This one clears ALL of them in the surrounding areas. No competition.
Let’s talk biscuits. These biscuits are NOT stale. I’m convinced they’re freshly made because I actually enjoy them. Other Popeyes? Those biscuits could be classified as a weapon. I could throw one at someone and cause bodily harm. These? Soft. Delicious. Safe for society.
The cashiers are fast, efficient, and actually friendly (yes, at Popeyes — miracles do happen). Even if there’s a wait, it’s worth it every single time.
BONUS REQUEST: If y’all ever bring the honey biscuits and the ice cream with biscuits like they have in Puerto Rico, that would be a DREAM COME TRUE. I would never emotionally recover.
If Popeyes had a standard, this location would be it.

Several times have gone there and food is not prepared. Yesterday submitted online order, when I got there to pick up was told it would be a 15 minute wait for chicken to be prepared. Both spicy and original. How bad can management be that you regularly run out of chicken (the main thing you sell) and are waiting until the last minute to prepare more? Even after you already have orders coming in you still wait. While several staff members just stand around looking lost waiting for food to be cooked. And it stinks in here, place really needs a deep clean.

When I politely brought the error to the manager’s attention and asked for it to be corrected, she was extremely rude and disrespectful and flatly refused to change the incorrect item.
Furthermore, I observed this same manager giving free chicken to her family/friends while denying a paying customer a simple correction for an error made by the restaurant. This behavior constitutes poor customer service, disrespect, and potential policy violation through favoritism – Zuli
