Of the three Thunderdome restaurants on the two blocks of Vine St, Krueger’s Tavern is the one I visit the least. I think my last visit was back in 2016, but the food is excellent, so I should definitely stop in more regularly.
First up, you definitely need to try the spicy chicken parm sandwich with crispy chicken, spicy vodka sauce, pepperonata, pesto, arugula, and provolone on a Blue Over potato bun ($14). A lot is going on with this sandwich, and the flavors really work well together. It is not super spicy, but it does have a little kick thanks to the vodka sauce. The blend of peppers and onions in the pepperonata makes for a really great sandwich topping. The cheese helps hold it all together; otherwise, this could be a messy sandwich to eat.
The hot beer cheese is also delicious. It is made with Kronenbourg 1664 and sharp cheddar, and a large portion of it is served with 3 pretzel sticks ($12).
The lemon hummus is unique and also very good. It is topped with Mediterranean-spiced carrots, cauliflower, and smoked paprika and served with toasted pita ($11).

Good food, friendly staff, good beer selection. Maria was a very friendly server who made our experience enjoyable. The beat salad is quite good as well as the veggie burger. Fun ambiance as well.

A little variety in the OTR menu is a good thing. Super flavorful greuyre grilled cheese sandwich (especially with bacon)
Don’t skip the Fried sauerkraut balls.
Pretzel with hot beer cheese comes with a heaping load of cheese, wish it came with a 4th pretzel.
The burgers are smash patties but big smash patties, the spicy burger is SPICY!
Plenty of drinks to choose from.

We had a nice lunch at Kruegers. The burgers were good. The truffle aioli was outstanding. The service was excellent. We would definitely go back.

Been here twice. Got their famous Krueger Burger and it was freaky good. Cooked perfect and tasted like an outdoor grilled burger. Will definitely return and get the burger again. Maybe try something else.
I suggest reservations as the place is kinda small. Our server was great. Parking is always tricky in that (OTR) part of downtown.

Wanted to check out this place for the high reviews and house truffle chips I saw. Left feeling very nauseous not only from the food but from all the flies and gnats circling the tables inside. The doors are propped open so that’s probably why – but maybe close them if that many bugs are coming in?
The biggest disappointment was the $8 Mac and Cheese that was the oddest shade of orange and thick like slop with overcooked noodles which was my son’s meal. When the waitress came over and asked how the food was my son spoke up and said he did not like it – and all she said was that he must be “particular” and offered no alternative – so he left hungry.
His Dad and I both tried it and agreed it tasted like powdered glue.
Maybe the restaurant should try their own food before serving it to a toddler and complaining that he’s a picky eater bc I doubt anyone, no matter the age, would want to finish a plate of whatever was served to us.
Overpriced and underwhelming.

I don’t know what they put in their veggie burgers, but oh my, they are delicious! This was the best veggie burger I’ve had in my 20 years of being a vegetarian. Get that with the kale appetizer. You won’t regret it regardless of whether you’re a vegetarian or not. The prices are reasonable, and the food comes out fast. Keep being great, Krueger’s Tavern!

Enjoyed our dinner here on a Sunday night. A smaller dining/seating area so reservations may be best for many dining times. We made reservations but the time we went was not overly busy.
Friendly and attentive service. The Krueger Burger I had was juicy and tasty. Very good fries. A decent beer/cocktail/drink menu. I felt the menu was reasonably priced. Side items are extra for some dishes but the fries we enough to share.

We went on Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. They were busy and the bartender was awesome. He was slammed but still gave great service and cocktails. Beer cheese with pretzels was great and the burgers are amazing.

We love the HAPPY HOUR here! Its hard to find drinks amd food for happy hour. Also their service was great. We have done 3 happy hours recently and met a great waitress named Maria. Fun and energetic. Made for a fun happy hour there. Highly recommend. We have went there prior to memorial hall shows.
