We walked in and was told there was no table available at least for an hour, due to the tornado that hit and everyone that were outdoors went inside.
And we waited for almost 10 minutes for anyone to tell us anything, since we saw 2 groups of people leave, one couple even told us, “oh we just opened a table for you”. No one came. I had to approach a tall Hispanic guy and he looked irritated. He said they are backed up in the kitchen. In my mind, if you were already serving those people that were outside and they all went inside, how are you backed up in order? Kitchen destroyed? Anyways, i had to ask him if we should just leave. And he said yes, since they wont be able to serve us. No apologies. Just plain disrespectful human being. multiple employees saw us at the front and not one even approached us and ask us anything.
Oh, and there was a couple who had reservation for that night, all the front lady told them that “Oh, its gonna be an hour long wait since everyone came in from the outdoor deck”.
Suggestion for you whoever owns this place.
TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES HOW TO BE COURTEOUS AND HAVE MANNERS. YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE FAILED BIG TIME.
Never coming back to this place…
Server was nice and friendly, but service was slow and food inconsistent in delivery and temperature.
The Garlic Parmesan Oysters were very good….. $19.00
(2) Catfish platter with 2 sides was very good………. $23.00
Crawfish was ok needed more seasoning, and they were not hot in temperature
Hushpuppies were not fresh
Onion rings were cooked fresh from frozen (have had better)
We started with the Garlic Parmesan Oysters. While I’m personally not an oyster fan, my husband and his friend really enjoyed them. For mains, we ordered the Snow Crab Cluster, the Shrimp Platter, and the Shrimp & Catfish Combo. All of the seafood was fresh and flavorful. I’d recommend getting the shrimp fried–the grilled version was a bit too salty for my taste, though my husband liked them just fine.
Each entree came with two sides and hushpuppies, which I was excited about–until I realized they only give you two, and they were a bit hard, overly salty, and not as satisfying as I’d hoped. Thankfully, I chose Fried Okra and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy as my sides–both were delicious! The okra was crispy and generously portioned, and the mashed potatoes were definitely the star: creamy, flavorful, and total comfort food.
I also love that they offer daily specials and events, so if you’re planning a visit, definitely check out their calendar. Overall, it’s a great spot to kick back with friends, enjoy some fresh seafood, and soak in the bayfront atmosphere.
Also, we got the crawfish and it was under seasoned. It was boiled well, but overall tasted pretty bland.
I ordered the 2 Filet Catfish platter. Iced tea. Chips and Salsa and Spicy Fried Pickles for $47.50
