Cozy restaurant with front seat seats to ocean view. Our server was very nice and attentive. My bloody Mary was ok but our sandwich and burger were great! Bread was soft with the right amount of sauce and fresh ingredients. Fries were hot and crisp. I would definitely recommend.

Stopped here to get food and a drink with an ocean view and mannn did I get that. Their Bloody Mary was by far the best I’ve had in probably years. I assumed the pictures of their food on their website were like how you see food on commercials and it never looks the same in person but their presentation is 10/10. My dirty phone camera doesn’t do it justice. The cabbage rolls were amazing and so filling I could only eat one so be prepared to have delicious leftovers. But what really stole the show was the service. I came in alone barely after opening and wanted to sit outside which I know typically means the staff kind of forget about you sometimes. Mary was so attentive and sweet. She gave me recommendations and chatted with me in a way that was genuine. My drinks and food came out swiftly as well which is a great bonus for a hungry girl ready to go walk the beach again. Can not recommend this place enough!

This is a restaurant on Rockaway beach. You can sit indoors or outside so that’s nice. The atmosphere is really nice if you sit outside, and the staff are really nice and prompt with service, but that’s about it. The food: No question it’s expensive and not great. For two people for lunch without fancy drinks it was $66.00. Fish and chips both halibut was cooked to an Inch of it’s life and the fries looks like they came from the frozen food aisle at WinCo. Not worth $32. My dish was shrimp Louie and I haven’t had a nice shrimp Louie in a long time, and was disappointed. Not worth $24.00. Again, great atmosphere, food, not so great.

Had the halibut special (grilled filet with sweet potato, mushroom, and broccalini) and halibut fish and chips. Wished it included a larger portion of veg. Dishes were decent but quite expensive for what you get. With wine and tip it was over $100. Service was great, able to sit outside and enjoy the sunset. Dog friendly outside with covered tables.

I’m gluten-free and dairy-free. This puts strict limitations on where we can eat when we travel. We loved Sand Dollar! It is a cozy place with a deceptive amount of seating. I ordered the GF cioppino (with good gluten-free garlic bread!), and my husband ordered the halibut fish and chips special. They both presented nice and were delicious. I ordered a pear cider on tap that was very good. The views outside were amazing, and so was our server who had conversation with us even after they had closed for the evening. The Sand Dollar is right in central Rockaway Beach and was convenient for where we were staying. During the off season pretty much everything closes at 8pm (even in Portland) so be prepared!

If it weren’t for this place having my favorite chowder in the entire world, I would probably give it a three star based on the facilities, needing a serious update, lack of substitutions and options, and I would say half the time service is amazing, depending on who you get and the other half of the time, not so amazing depending on who you get. The views are incredible and everything I’ve tried has been really delicious. It’s a great place to stop in if you’re on a road trip or you’re staying in Rockaway Beach and want a Chillaxx environment to enjoy a good meal. Especially if it’s sunny out and you could sit outside to listen to the waves and feel the breeze while you chow down on sufficient chips or chowder.

We went to Sand Dollar a few weeks ago, visiting our daughter. Party of 6, ordered quite a bit of food as we’d been traveling all day and were hungry. Our Server was so kind and patient, took care with each and every special request and when the food finally arrived it was SO worth it. Clam chowder was to die for as was the fish and chips (sorry no pics, that went fast!) and schrimp alfredo pasta. Would highly recommend!

The food we ordered was delicious but to pair it with the patio seating is absolutely over the top. Really enjoyed our meal and are waitress Mary, she was extremely friendly and went over and beyond to make it a perfect evening for us. I wish I would have found this place sooner, the meals are reasonable as well as the drinks. They offer a full wet bar, I ordered a blackberry crown with lemonade that was delicious! I also ordered the bacon cheeseburger and my Wife ordered the poplano pepper burger and swapped out her fries for a salad. She also ordered a Moscow mule. Mary was very attentive to our every need. Our glasses never went empty, loved her attitude!
