Kimo’s is hands down the best restaurant in Rockaway, no debate. The ambiance alone is worth the visit because it legit feels like you walked into Greece and Egypt at the same time. I really felt so comfortable here.
The food is where it really shines though. I got the Chicken Souvlaki Bowl and I’ve had souvlaki plenty of times but this one is different. The chicken is so juicy and well seasoned it’s hard to go back to anywhere else. My friends got The Stacker and the Thick Chick, which are loaded fries with their homemade fried chopped chicken, white sauce and chipotle mayo. We were all picking off each other’s plates, that’s how good it was. Service was amazing!!, staff were super nice, and the whole experience just felt right. This was easily the highlight of my Rockaway trip and I’m already looking forward to coming back this summer. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Kimos Kitchen. The spices on the pita were so overbearing and piled on so heavily that they completely took over the taste of the food. It was impossible to enjoy anything else because all you could taste was the seasoning. On top of that, the restaurant itself smelled like dirty, old oil—and unfortunately, that smell translated directly to the food. The fries tasted like they were fried in old, unclean oil, which made them pretty much inedible. Overall, not a good experience and not somewhere I’d return to.
I’m genuinely surprised by this response. My review reflected my personal experience with the food and parking — nothing more. Constructive feedback is part of running any business, and I shared mine .
Instead of addressing the concerns, the response became personal and hostile, which unfortunately reinforces my original disappointment.

We are so excited that we discovered Kimo’s. The food is delicious and fresh, and they have a great menu, and even had homemade Greek orange cake when we were there, which is a huge plus for us as we love it! And we really appreciate the fact that it is a family owned and run restaurant and they were super friendly when we were there. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Wow!!! This is the best salad I’ve ever had! The mixed greens were fresh!! Crispy! Variety of mixed greens kale spinach- what a great idea. I ordered a side of lamb and beef meatballs- full of flavor and paired perfectly. Also came here for the bowls and tried all the other options of meats, chicken, pita, sides available- always 100% food and service!

Not fresh and didn’t taste good. Good a bowl with steak that didn’t taste fresh and good, and huge tomatoes that haven’t been diced properly. Forced myself to finish it because didn’t want to waste meal that is not cheap. I had ordered cucumbers in the bowl and they didn’t include it. A was a very plain bowl with rice meat and tomatoes and paid $52 (with two coffees and desert). Not sure how this place has 4.8 reviews, so deceitful.

Kimo’s is such a great spot by Rockaway Beach. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is amazing everyone’s super friendly and welcoming! They always give great filling portions as well! The owner is really cool! Great vibes and atmosphere, definitely one of my favorite spots !! They have an amazing place to sit and eat outside in the back, definitely recommend if you’re in this area!

Wonderful food !! We had the bowls and they were absolutely delicious. We also got the baklava but what really stole the show is their homemade Dubai chocolate bars which the owner makes himself and it was delicious

The food came cold, the fries were not fully cooked, there was hardly any chicken ony gyro. I’m so disappointed in this meal and the waste of $. I called and spoke to manager I was kind, he was polite, however I realize I got horrible, cold food because they were having a busy day and they were “behind ” because of being so busy. I won’t even write about the dessert. The Lemonades were even warm… I wasn’t offered a refund, i got an apology, but it was my first and last time ordering from this restaurant with such wonderful reviews.The only good thing I can say is that vegetables were fresh.

This place is perfect for a quick bite or even to sit down for a bit with some friends! The atmosphere is amazing! They even have a cute space in the back which feels like you’ve been transported to someplace else but Rockaway. They even have vegan options! Their service is awesome and quick! They’re very accommodating! We had ordered The Thick Chick and Hawawshi stuffed with spinach. They were both very delicious! For drinks, we tried their Moroccan Mint Lemonade and Peach Ginger Lemonade. Can’t say which one was better but they were both very refreshing!! This place is definitely worth visiting!!

My favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood. Every ingredient and dish is fresh, flavorful and made with care. I’m partial to the chicken shawarma in a bowl or whole wheat pita and the tabouli and beets are my favorite add-ins. Really lovely customer service and the space is nice and clean too. Every meal feels healthy, tasty and satisfying. Big fan of Kimo’s!
