For Robert, Oscar, Jeovani and Mike Carrillo—the four brothers who opened Rancho Grande—starting up their own restaurant was part of the American dream. ‘We came from Mexico not having anything to our name,’ Robert said. ‘That will inspire you to better yourself and situation. Opening the restaurant was a way for us to get ahead.’ The Carrillo brothers opened Rancho Grande in 1991 with one location along FM 1960 and another in Tomball. ‘The first location did not do as well as we thought, but the Tomball location did great,’ Robert said. ‘The Rancho Grande in Magnolia came a few years later but did extremely well since the first day that we opened.’

Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, and the flavors are incredible.
They also have the best margaritas in town… you really can’t go wrong!

My experiences at this establishment between 2013 and 2015 were more favorable than my recent visit. The culinary quality appears to have diminished, particularly when contrasted with the Magnolia location. While the hostess provided exceptional service and a thorough explanation of the menu, the food did not meet my expectations. Furthermore, the portion sizes, specifically the burrito, are smaller compared to other Tex-Mex restaurants in the vicinity. The taco salad was predominantly composed of lettuce, lacking the desired flavor profile. Despite these shortcomings, I am open to revisiting the restaurant, contingent upon an improved dining experience.

This was our first visit to this establishment, and we came as a family. Overall, the experience was enjoyable. We ordered the beef fajitas and chicken quesadillas. While the flavors were good, they were not exceptional. The beef fajitas, in particular, were slightly chewy. However, it was still a satisfying meal, and we appreciated the quality of the food and service.

Real nice place close to my shop. It’s quite convenient stopped on in to try it out for the first time. Food was excellent. Beer was thirst quenching all around Good experience. Got to watch a little bit of a game on my lunch break. Good place to try out.

We (6 people) were there on a Monday night for a birthday celebration. The food and margaritas were great! Tried the pineapple and watermelon margs – delicious! Also, try the birria ramen – yummy! Great service for our group which included a couple of young ones.

***EDIT*** Ask about their margarita flight! talked to their manager about it and it’s something they want to start, they did one for us tonight and it was awesome! Definitely ask about the flight and see if they’ll make one for you!!*** Wonderful margaritas! I suggest the mango with blue curacao or the Rickyberry. The Gringos fajitas or the Sheriff are the best! And I always enjoy sitting in Erick’s section, he’s a great waiter!
