Staff were friendly and attentive. Ambience was chill for a week night. Food came out in a timely manner and was tasty. Recommend ordering a Taste of Awash for 2 with one side order of injera (4 rolls). Fav meat was the doro tibs (sweet chicken) and the vegetables were the star of the dish to me. Lentils and greens were delicious! Not a fan of the doro wot with the egg or the beef filling in the sambusa. I’d recommend the lentil sambusa instead. The awaze green sauce was just spicy no real flavor. Overall it’s worth trying and tasting what you like to then order them as a dish next time. Great exposure to different culture.

Go! Trust me you will not regret it.
Anything you get here you will absolutely love. First Minar (I hope I’m not killing it) our server, was wonderful. She was attentive but not smoothering. EVERYTHING she suggested was sooo good.
There were 2 of us and we had the lentil sambusa (fab), also ended up doing the taste of Awash for 1 and spicy lamb tibs, wow! Never had lamb so tender and juicy in my life and it was all very generous portions. The honey wine and imported beer were also really great.
The cherry on top of the amazing dinner we had was the homemade chocolate cake and Ethiopian tea. This is a family place and you can tell by the love poured into everything, but the rich yet light chocolate cake with the floral accents of the tea was just the most amazing combination. I can’t even deal!
We’ve been here before and its always great but this time was especially exceptional.
Please visit, you won’t regret it. And get the cake and tea (no sugar) combo if they have it, they are life changing together!

We had an excellent dinner at Awash and highly recommend it. The restaurant itself is unremarkable and sits on a strip mall next to a liquor store. But the food is delicious and service very attentive and professional. We ordered one of their sampler plates and every single item was delicious. Ethiopian food is typically eaten with your hands by way of their sourdough bread rolls. But if you don’t enjoy this tradition you can ask for a plate and hardware and the staff at Awash won’t blink an eye. Everything we ate was clearly made from scratch and tasted exquisitely. Ethiopian beer was excellent and so was Ethiopian Cabernet Sauvignon wine. For dessert we had Ethiopian coffee, which is very strong and served with an incense burner (for relaxation) and… popcorn! We’ll definitely be back for more!

Ethiopian food is absolutely delicious, and this is without a doubt one of the best Ethiopian restaurants. The service is very warm and welcoming, and the special touch they put into every dish truly stands out. The food is exquisite, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the decoration in every space is very traditional and authentic. I highly recommend it, as I have been several times and have always had an excellent experience 100%

Very good Ethiopian in south Florida. Always take people here to get Ethiopian food. It’s in a strip mall that is a little sketchy but the food is very good and atmosphere inside is friendly. Often crowded in the weekends , they also have a variety of Ethiopian beers. Recommend !

Solid Ethiopian in South Florida which is usually devoid of any decent ethnic cuisine. I transplanted from Silicon Valley to Miami some time ago and miss quality ethnic food especially Ethiopian food. Awash is very good – nice family running it too. You can feel the love in the food and the service.

Very authentic and delicious experience. We had the vegetarian combo for 2, kifto (make sure to ask for it raw, the best best best dish of the night), and meat sambusas which came with a wonderful dipping sauce. At the end of our meal we had the Ethiopian coffee, also delicious and great experience. Overall the food and service is fantastic! Must visit!
