Really enjoyed my visit to Saigon Maxim in Riverbend! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the service made the experience feel comfortable. The food was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and nicely portioned. Everything came out hot and tasted great.
Overall, a great spot for Vietnamese food. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Terrible service. We arrived around 2 PM, and many tables were still not cleaned. We didn’t feel very welcome — one of the waitresses saw us twice but didn’t offer us any seats. After waiting a few minutes, we ended up seating ourselves. Then, for over 10 minutes, we weren’t offered any water or tea until a more mature waitress finally noticed us. The table next to ours had to call the waitress three times just to place their order.
That said, the menus were clean and not greasy at all — much better than many other Vietnamese restaurants, so credit for that.
The food was good. The satay beef pho was tasty, slightly on the spicy side, which I didn’t mind. The spring rolls were hot and crispy, though they had a bit too much taro and not enough ground pork for my taste — still acceptable. The sub was a bit disappointed, the beef was way too chewy to eat. The seasoning of the veggies and the sub itself were good. Too bad with the quality choice of the meat. Prices were reasonable.
The bathroom was clean and had no odd smell, which is another plus.
I might consider coming back if the service and wait times improve.

I really enjoyed my delicious Pho, spring rolls, and coconut drink. I love how they care about their customers and the experience they provide. Special mention to Ziv. He’s so accommodating, and has a pleasant attitude towards the customers. 5/5

3.5-4 overall. Generous portions of food orders. Well flavoured but not heavily either. Pricing is very reasonable for the amount that you get. There are good amounts of seating here but it gets fairly busy during lunch hours also. Vegetarian options are a little limited. The vermicelli bowls are recommended. Service is as straightforward as all Asian places get – efficient.

First time i dine in.i just go inside direct and sit on the available chairs.. i don’t know their procedure .. the waiter approaches me and asking if i go directly in my table.. i said yes without knowing i should wait from the door.. nobody greets me when i came and nobody ask me i dine in. So i just go and sit… This waiter just yelling at me Don’t DO THAT,Don’t DO THAT ,Don’t DO THAT.. everyones watching…he should approached me calmly and tell me what to do . I don’t have any idea about it…i tell him im sorry and i don’t know that i should wait.. nxt time have some respect.. this not happens to me were ever i dine in.. and i order a my egg noodles but serve me a vermicelli … A also work at a foodchain and we don’t do that to our customers.. we respect them and we dont say those words to them with everyones watching….dec 5 2025 6pm dine in

We recently visited Maxim Saigon around 7:30 pm and found the restaurant quite busy. While the food was great as usual, the service unfortunately was disappointing.
We waited about 5 minutes before our order was taken, and noticed that next table who arrived 20 mins after us were served their food first. Our dishes only began arriving about 15 minutes later. As we were dining with two hungry kids, the long wait was particularly challenging.
When the food arrived, there were not enough utensils provided for our table. We requested another set but did not receive it even after a reminder, and eventually had to walk to the kitchen to ask for it ourselves.
We understand that busy evenings can be demanding, but better coordination and attentiveness from the service team would greatly improve the overall dining experience.

We were in Calgary today and have not been here since 2019. So a good time to see if Saigon Maxim was as good as I remember. Put In our order an yes it brought back memories it was great. Loved the chicken wings fresh and tasty very hot not spicy but hot great crispy loved them . The shrimp rolls very fresh. The noodle bowls great hot and tasty. Enough food that we even brought some home. Will we come back yes and hopefully sooner than the lull because of .. well you know. Loved the food.

Best pho broth I’ve found in Calgary, really fast service and the staff are attentive and kind. Never had an order come out incorrect and I’ve eaten here and ordered out dozens of times. They have had Christmas decorations out as long as I’ve been coming here, which I find hilarious and charming. This place rules.
