Every dish we ordered was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. It’s the kind of place where you’re already planning what you’re going to order next time before you even leave.
The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a casual dinner. Between the generous portions and how much we loved everything we tried, we’ll definitely be back again soon!
We had Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parm (both pizza and pasta dishes), Ravioli, Short Rib Pizza, Hot Honey Pizza, Zeppolle, and Cannolis.
Have to say we loved it all. Very gourmet, high end food! The Hot Honey Pizza is unique but such a perfect combination of a little heat, a little sweet, and plenty of savory!
Very clean restrooms for customers! Excellent service!
The pizza arrived looking exactly as it should. Well baked, visually inviting, and clearly handled with care. The flavor followed through. Balanced, satisfying, and thoughtfully made. This is pizza that feels best enjoyed in the restaurant. The ride home does what it always does. Steam builds, the box takes over, and texture shifts. Even with that working against it, the pizza still held up and tasted good.
Walking in, the energy was unmistakable. A busy weekend evening in a prime Center City location, yet the room felt grounded by loyal customers rather than relying solely on foot traffic. It felt established and well supported by people who know the menu.
This rating reflects the pizza on its own, as we did not have the chance to try anything else during this visit. That said, we have heard consistently strong praise for their cheesesteak egg rolls, which are often described as exceptional. Between that reputation and our experience with the pizza, future visits feel inevitable.
Since that first stop, we have noticed several additional LaScala’s locations that we have yet to explore. Based on this experience, they are firmly on our list.
I am gluten intolerant and asked Nick for help on the menu. He informed me all sauces are made fresh, in house so anything with a sauce could have gluten containing ingredients just not put in or replaced. They also offered gluten free pasta! He was very knowledgeable of what would be safe for me. I got the spicy chicken cutlet rigatoni which had burrata, a vodka sauce, and Mike’s Hot Honey with grilled chicken and gluten free sauce. It was DELICIOUS! My friend got the non-gluten free version and felt it was alright, not outstanding.
We ordered drinks; three of us got espresso martinis. I thought it was delicious as it was bold and strong but if that is not how you like it, I recommend adding Bailey’s or going for another drink.
The other pictured foods are those of my colleagues: gnocchi, lemon crab and shrimp over linguini, and a LaScala chopped salad. All said their dishes were very good!
All around we had a great experience and Nick provided outstanding service for our large group!
