The place was filled as we walked in. As we walked passed the other customers and seeing their orders I could feel my the anticipation building. The menu was mind boggling. Luckily I had decided on lasagna, before I arrive. The portions were large enough that I had dinner, lunch and lunch tomorrow. It was a great meal and a good time.

We came here for our Valentines Day dinner, while busy, the atmosphere and food were amazing. We truly enjoyed food and would come back again. I ordered the Lasagna which was delicious and rich. My fiancé ordered the Nicola Special and was in love with it. We also really enjoyed the bread, deep fried ravioli and cannolis. If you are looking for a classic Italian restaurant dedicated to fresh food and traditional recipes, this is the place to be.

I would also recommend making a stop by the deli if you would like any favorites to-go quickly.

My wife and I enjoyed an anniversary dinner at Mamma DiSalvo’s. It was a typical busy Friday night – we weren’t surprised we needed to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time…don’t rush greatness! 🙂 Once seated, service was exemplary. Water refilled repeatedly, as was our the heavenly bread. We ordered a bottle of wine to accompany our lasagna with meat sauce – incredibly fresh and tasty! We finished our meal with new york cheesecake topped with strawberries…and I enjoyed an espresso martini along with the cheesecake. The team had ‘congratulations’ in powered sugar written next to the cheesecake – a nice extra little touch! We will be back for our next anniversary!

We decided to try this place based off local people telling us how good it was. So we ordered it for takeout, it did not disappoint. They have their own takeout window there, pretty busy place But it made it pretty easy for us to get In-N-Out.

I ordered the spaghetti mama’s sauce, it was very good. The sauce was right not too sweet, which is perfect. The meatballs were very good. My wife is the Alfredo person so she got that I as did my daughter and they added the chicken to it. My daughter said it was some of the best sauce she’s had anywhere.

Great food! We loved the homemade pesto sauce and vegetarian lasagna. Plenty of vegetarian options! We a reservation on a busy Friday evening and waited about 25-30 minutes after the reservation for our table, not much room to wait as the restaurant is very small. It would be nice if they had a system to text you when your table is ready

We have been going to Mama DiSavo for 27 years. The food is always outstanding. We now travel from Lexington, Kentucky, making sure to stop at the grocery for homemade pastas and their signature sauce. It is the best Italian food. We are devoted to the restaurant and highly recommend it. Make a reservation. The restaurant fills up quickly, as it should. What a lovely place to gather with family and eat such amazing, homemade with love food.

The food is delicious- from traditional pasta dishes to the specials, every dish is made for the eye and for the palate! The service is top notch, as well. Don’t let the unassuming location and exterior fool you; Mamma DiSalvo’s is dishing out amazing meals! (And the portions are huge! I weighed my leftovers when I got home… a pond and a half of food?!) I had the baked ziti with meatballs. It’s a simple dish, but so well executed in flavor and presentation. The truffle fries with garlic aioli were a great starter, and the cannoli are delightful! If you are in the area, make plans to eat here.

Thus place has been showing up on my news feed for a while now, so we decided to stop in for dinner, of course with no reservation, on a Friday night. Highly recommend you make reservations, you can call or on the web. I will definitely do this next time. But we got lucky and got bar seats, the bar is first come first serve. And, the bartenders were great! Fast service, very attentive, definitely more entertaining than a table.
The ladies started out with a classic cocktail a Tom Collins. The original hard lemonade! They were excellent. My daughter had never had one, and said it was her new favorite. We will see about that, LOL
The complimentary house made bread with EVOO and baslamic vinegar. The bread was warm and soft with a hint of garlic butter flavor. But for me the highlight was the balsamic in the high quality EVOO. First the EVOO was nearly clear, like water nearly, but the baslamic was sweet and tangy. So Good!!
We started with an appetizer of fried Calamari with sauce. It had a sprinkle of parsley and had a light golden brown cook. This was excellent, no heavy fishy smell, the texture was firm but not to chewy. The sauce was good with a light, sweet, tomato flavor.
The wife had the Gnocchi with Meatballs in the mama’s sauce, with mozzarella cheese melted over it. A little back note, my wife’s grandmother was from Sicily so she grew up with the homemade sauces and Meatballs. And she loved this! Said it was some of the best she has ever had.
My daughter had the Lasagna with meat sauce. She said it was awesome! Highlight praise from her. I got one bite, and she was right, awesome! The noodles were just right, firm not hard, with layers of yumminess. The meat sauce was robust, great punchy flavor, deep read color, landed with bits of meat throughout.
I had the Ziti with Meatballs in the Mama’s sauce. This is my go to Ziti carries loads of sauce, and to me the Ziti flavor is lighter than say spaghetti or angle hair. It was cooked perfectly, a bit of firmness, not soft or mushy, no pasta water sitting around the sauce. Like I said i get Ziti so I can taste the sauce, and boy was it worth it. It has a bright red color, so you know it was cooked long and slow. There were large pieces of basil leaf, again showing it was made in house with fresh ingredients. And the flavor was delicate, smooth, and creamy. I think the mixed in ricotta added to the creamy texture, and gave it the unique flavor profile that me and the wife loved.
We both got Meatballs as our protein, and let me tell you they were so good. Dense, and solid, but the fork just went right through. Again the cook on these were spot on. A light sear on the outside and done all the way through, no pink. They are roughly the size of a cutie or tangerine, larger than a golf ball, smaller than an orange, which makes them the perfect size. And the flavor is only complemented by the sauce, it is spiced just right with a light Italian seasoning hint. Not overpowering, but rich and a hearty meaty flavor, not greasy, or heavy. I know Mama’s is known for thier sauce, and rightfully so, but to me they were the star of the dish.
Now, food this good, this we’ll prepared, this freshness, is not cheap. But, like my grandmother would say, you get what you pay for. With that said, I didn’t think the final bill was out of line. Great service that was enhanced by spectacular food, in a old world style atmosphere. With drinks it was just over $40 a person. Again, I thought it was well worth it, and I will be going back. That chicken parm and fried ravioli is calling my name.

My party of 4 waited 1 hr and 15 minutes for a table, and we had made a reservation. The communication from the host was poor and there were several other parties around us who waited 60+ minutes past their reservation time. I love this restaurant typically, our server and food were good, but this was a very poor experience and it doesn’t make me want to return again.
