I’m not usually a fish camp lover just because I prefer broiled or steamed seafood I don’t really like it fried. But my employer likes to go here and the last two times we’ve gone the food was amazing. None of the food tasted greasy It was light and airy. The hush puppies are great especially with the honey butter. I like both the sweet and sour slaw. They did a remodel not too long ago and the interior just looks beautiful. I love what they’ve done to the place. Their candy boat is phenomenal! I once turned my nose up to fish camp food but I will now be glad to say, Let’s Go Eat at the Catawba Fish Camp. I also have to give praise to our waiter Jack/Jackson. He was so friendly so attentive and just an all-around good kid. I told my employer I didn’t think they made kids like that anymore, I only see them in lifetime movies. Haha! So if you go be sure to ask for Jack because he’s just such a sweet guy and one of the best waiters I’ve experienced in forever. Give him a raise!!!!

Wonderful Fish Camp restaurant, really nicely done remodeling inside gives a warm welcoming feel, with still the fish camp restaurant vibes. Very large dining area, we brought nearly a dozen folks and practically had one side of the dining room to ourselves. Place was still busy though, just very huge and comfortable dining area. Food was delicious some of the best seafood you can find in the area! Service was exceptional and just as friendly and helpful as you can get! We will certainly be back!

Food was pretty good (could have been more seasoning in their breading but you cant please everyone). We came right when they opened and everything was hot and fresh. The server, Emma B, was very attentive and polite, great service. Happy with the prices and the amount of food. My dining partner said the sweet tea was not very good, or the deviled crab, but everything else was great, especially the hush puppies (he got the seafood platter). I got the catfish filet (nuggets) and i was initially a little nervous based on their appearance but they were crunchy and tasted great. Not sure why one review mentioned the place not having music. They were playing some country radio station when we went.

Clean on the inside. But so quiet, no music or anything to make the ambience better. You just hear everyone else’s voices. Coleslaw was good. Baked potato was good. The fried food all tasted the same, and pretty dry. The price was pretty good. Combination plate was $20. My 1/2 lb boiled shrimp plate was $13. Liked I was given the choice of baked potato instead of fries.

Brandon and his crew cook some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten. The fried oysters are out of this world. The atmosphere is relaxed and very clean. Staff are polite and attentive.

The food was great. Prices are more than reasonable. Nicky, our server, was fantastic! Very personable, got our order 100% right and even made some recommendations since it was out first time there. Highly recommended!

First visit, on a Friday evening. Easy in. McNeely a 3 year veteran was our server. She was very attentive. Great service.
Restaurant has all you can eat fish choices. I had cat fish nuggets with salt/pepper. My wife had seafood platter, not all you can eat, but more than she could eat.
Food was hot and good.
Restrooms were clean, as is the entire restaurant.
Will be going back.

The wait was very short-especially for a Saturday evening, the staff was very friendly, the food was fresh and hot, and the restaurant was well maintained. The all-you-can-eat option was excellent. Very good selection to include sweet or sour slaw and two hush puppy choices all included in price. Hand-cut fries were very good as well as the baked potato. Price was average ($14.95 for AYCE shrimp) but worth it.

We live close by so we frequent this place. All servers are polite and helpful. The food is great and fresh. Never have we had cold food unless we leave it on the table after our food coma starts to fade. This establishment has history and a story to tell as well.

This is a fish camp in the truest sense. You’ll love it if you know fish camps from your growing-up. You should REALLY go out of your way to eat there if you enjoy fish, but not a stuffy atmosphere, and haven’t discovered the fish camp. We just moved back to the Carolinas after decades away and are so glad we ran across Catawba.
Ask to sit in Emma’s section!
