Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

I swung by this place for lunch yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The ordering process was pretty quick and the staff seemed friendly, even though it was kinda busy. I got a burger combo and the fries were decent, nothing fancy but fresh. The burger was okay, nothing extraordinary but it hit the spot. The dining area was clean enough, though a few tables had crumbs from previous customers. Overall, it was a solid experience for a quick meal, and I’d probably come back if I’m in the area and in a hurry. Prices seemed fair too.

Drive thru cashier was friendly with great customer service skills. I recommend trying the Buffalo Ranch chicken sandwich meal as it has the perfect flavor and definitely not over spicy.

Please teach your employees health and safety standards. Wearing gloves, rubbing your face and nose then making my drink and pushing the lid on with your palm, still same glove is about as backwards as you can get. Fix this before I video it next time and post to social media. 1/29/2026 at 8:15 p.m. drove thru

Buns were really stale. Fries had clearly been sitting out for a while. Long wait times (30 mins) at drive through. Otherwise, food was fine.

Drive thru was fast and friendly service. I had a cheeseburger, no lettuce or onion. Bun had a nice toast to it. Color of tomatoes made me question “Are these real?”.

I am writing specifically about the prickly pear raspberry soda , a new offering. I’m a big fan boy here. I have been looking for a refreshing soda to drink. Unlike all the other so called refreshers that add sugary syrups to sweet sodas for a drink only a sugar addict could love this has moderate sweetness that allows it to be actually refreshing and a natural flavor boost from the raspberry pulp topping. Highly recommended!

No matter how far in advance I order I always end up waiting 20-40 minutes for me food. It’s supposed to be fast food and I’ve literally never waited less than 30 minutes. I get a rush happens and things get behind but as someone who works in a restaurant this is ridiculous. Waiting a half hour for halfway decent food is insane and it need to be fixed because it’s every time I come in.

The food is usually pretty good when you can finally get someone to wait on your and take your order after 15 minutes of standing at the front counter.

4.5 stars. Lately it’s been hit and miss. Last week the fish was way over cooked on my sandwich. The burgers are not as good as they use to be.
I know they’re having employee problems.
OK – Looks like new management and now 5 stars. Best fish sandwich around!
1000% better than that TINY Mcdonalds fish.
****Update – New manager and now 5 stars. But they stopped selling fish. Called corporate office and left voice mail with my phone number. Never heard back as expected.
****Update – Fish is back for Lent. Wish they had it all year.
