Not for Foodies, but Locals Seem to Love It
We tried El Rancho Grande while in town and were hopeful, especially since it seemed to be a local favorite. The restaurant was clean, and the service was decent, but unfortunately, the food just didn’t deliver.
As someone who appreciates hot, flavorful, and fresh food, this fell short across the board. The kids’ meals were especially disappointing. We asked for cheese pizza and were given pepperoni. Not a huge deal, but when your kids are picky eaters, it matters. The pizza was clearly microwaved, the chicken tenders looked like they’d been sitting around all day, and the fruit was just a store-bought fruit cup. Also, no non-carbonated drink options for kids? Major miss.
The adult plates looked nice but lacked flavor and freshness. Nothing was seasoned well, and everything tasted like it had been sitting for a while. To top it off, the carrot cake with fruit was freezer burned and completely inedible—we tossed it in the trash.
While I’m glad this place brings joy to locals, it’s not somewhere I’d return to or recommend for anyone who genuinely loves well-prepared Mexican food.

Traveling and just stopped to fix some stuff on the car. Noticed that this place was packed at 2 pm on Sunday. They just kept coming! I had to try it out. EXCELLENT food, prices, portions, atmosphere, service! Need I say more?

The salsa and chips were really good. Had several bowls. The chimichangas were really good. The beans and rice had good flavor . The Entire meal was good. Was eaten before I could get pics. The place get lots of customers fast for lunch on Sundays. Best in town

Great food, great service. The salsa is a little warm but I like it that way. The wait staff never let our drinks go dry, also did not hover needlessly, when you needed them they were just magically there. I got a beef rice bowl. The beef cuts were small but extremely tender and tasty, the meat just melted in your mouth. I know it was good cuts of meat because I ate every morsel on my plate. This place must be very popular with locals, when leaving there were cars on the sides of the road and in the grass. Will definitely revisit.

Decided to take my girl out for a date when I first got it I can tell it was busy and the host was exhausted n which I can tell as to why no blame on that but, when we sat down tonight I have no clue who the server was bald lad was a bit rude at first and didn’t seem like he didn’t wanna take tables during that night the table next to us was also fed up with guy as well I can tell why his service was a bit lame took a while on the refill of drinks the manager that night supported his tables more than he did thanks to him I got my food in a good time manor plus extra chips n salsa no charge was a very helpful manager but the review was for server other than that I dont mind coming back the scenery was very nice there and warming to sit down and eat it .

Nice establishment with a full service bar and good decor serving up white-washed Mexican food but decent in flavor. We ordered the Ceviche, Chipotle Chicken Pasta, and the Jalisco Special plate. The flavors were fairly good, and the portions were plenty, but the Ceviche could use more lime to enhance the flavor and texture but overall a good dining experience.

We met our friends for dinner here and had some very good food. Happy hour 4-7 had some pretty good deals and the margaritas hit the spot. The number of items on the menu is huge and even the kids had lots of choices off the kids menu. The restaurant was packed on a Wednesday night too. Overall, a great place to have a family dinner and meet up with your friends.

Beautiful atmosphere inside. Well lit, exposed brick, open and spacious. Really enjoyed the aesthetics of the place.
Our waiter was friendly and prompt. Couldn’t ask for much more.
Margaritas were on point. Potent and not too much sour mix.
Salsa was also delicious and fresh.
Overall, a really good experience. Top notch all around. If I lived in Clarksville, this would be my margarita spot for sure.

My wife and I went to Clarksville Tennessee for the day and decided to try out one of their local Mexican restaurants. The atmosphere was the typical Mexican restaurant, colorful with lots of help standing by. I ordered Jalisco Especial, which was the same as paella in my local Mexican restaurant, shrimp, chicken, and beef over rice with cheese sauce. They offered a large and small portion. I went for the small portion, and it was plenty. My wife ordered a shrimp burrito, which came with rice and beans and a guacamole salad. Their salsa was unusually good. It was spiced with onions and peppers and had a unique taste of its own. I enjoyed it. Everything was well prepared and came fairly quickly. We arrived there early, so the place was fairly empty, but by the time we left, it was filling up. It was a pretty nice place. Go check it out. If this review was helpful, please give me a thumbs up.
