At our Tallahassee, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Food is very good and the people that work behind the counter are respectful and kind. Therefore the service is amazing is great. It is very clean and usually open to seating and parking. The manager/ employee behind the counter is Elijah and he handles his job with perfection and ease and diplomacy. The food is good and they had to take care of my “remake”and the food came out hot, perfect and tasty. I watched as he helped the people in the back ( employees) also he was very courteous to the customers in the front and to me. I would recommend it to my family and my friends and strangers even. Nice job Elijah.

My family goes to Captain D’s once a week every week sometimes twice a week. The last5 or 6 times we’ve been the sides are ridiculously served. We order fried okra which you have to pay extra for and still they short us again. Today we went again and I counted each order of the fried okra and there were only 10 fried okra per serving which is ridiculous to have to pay extra extra and still get screwed on the amount. Don’t mind paying the price but don’t short the order. On top of that the girl working the counter is always an rude. Almost like you’re inconvenient her to order food. Can’t believe the owners of these places don’t take a little more interest in their employees and what they’re doing. The employees are never friendly and the fish, blackened fish is always undercooked. There’s always other food places around.

I was really impressed with the customer service, how clean the lobby and behind the counter were. The food was very good and cooked to order. The best food I’ve had from any Captain D’s in years. Thank you for making me feel welcomed.

Save your time and go somewhere else. I’ve never experienced customer service this bad. The woman attending to my family and me was incredibly rude and treated us like we were an inconvenience. The food was decent, but the fish was so oily I couldn’t stomach it. Definitely not worth being treated like crap.

When it comes to this particular establishment and restaurant very well organized by the management and the team is the same way always the food is hot and fresh you had nothing ever bad there and the price always good always friendly faces in this particular restaurant definitely recommend this particular Captain D’s you cannot go wrong

Oh Captain D can be on point and when they are the food is amazing fish fried golden brown hot crispy fries hush puppies that hit , lobster bites ok . Chicken tenders ok. I have been to Captain D on N. Monroe 5 visits in the last two months. Two of those trips were on point. The food was delicious . The other trips I felt like I was served Captain D nuts who ever was the cook definitely was not on cap d standards . The staff was always nice and professional ..2 out of 5 don’t come if you are not ready to wait a long time , drive thru menu sucks

The 78 Noodle Nolle
Went to the drive thru yesterday as I was craving fish (but really craving malt vinegar). When I ordered I asked for extra malt vinegar. I was told they were out. I almost cried. When I go to the window they had filled a few “to go” containers with malt vinegar from a bottle on one of the tables. Then they came to me with a bottle that was about 2/3 used, but had plenty still in it and gave me the bottle! (I asked if I could pay for it and they said NO) I was so happy! Lunch was saved and it was delicious! 5 solid stars on this one! 🙂

I’m absolutely blown away. almost five bucks and pathetic order of clams. not only is it hardly any food, its GOT NO CLAMS!!! tried to contact management. corporate has some stupid e form. their classic fish is good but dang!!! no wonder why it has 3 stars and the place is empty. this place wont last! period!!! all batter no clam! sorry pathetic portion!!! embarrassing. the people that run this CONpany should be ashamed!!! look at the photo where i cut the clam strips in half! not a single bit of clam meat!
