Good food, friendly staff. Candied bacon was really good, also love the bourbon sauce with the chicken tenders.

The Charred Oak Tavern is a great place to spend an evening — the atmosphere is warm and inviting with that perfect tavern feel, and the service is attentive and genuinely friendly. The food is decent but is the one area that lags behind; it’s satisfying enough but doesn’t quite match the quality of everything else on offer. A stronger menu would make this place hard to beat.

I nearly had a religous experience with the steak and the bourbon I paired with it. Warm and inviting atmosphere, staff was very friendly, clean bathrooms, accommodating large parties (WITH NOTICE, don’t drop it on them last minute just because I said that), great selection of food, PLENTY of parking. The owner was very nice, can’t wait to go back.

Was there last night for Valentines’s with two other couples. We ordered the Valentine’s special Prime Rib with Lobster Tails. The meat was horrible all fat. We left hungry. We told the waitress & she brought us the dessert tray as a comp which was great. She also said she was going to comp our drinks which didn’t happen as they were still on the bill. The waitress was great & the place pretty but, unfortunately, the food was not good. We won’t be back.

First time dining here. My wife and I shared the candied bacon, she ordered the clam chowder and the Cherry coke ribs while I had the 14oz NY Sirloin. We both drank only soda. We both thought the bacon excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare more on the rare side which I would prefer) and was very tender with not a lot of gristle. According to phantom gourmet it came topped with garlic butter but they up charge for it now which I did not order. I liked my truffle fries though the seasoning was getting to be a bit much towards the end. The whiskey mashed potatoes though we both thought were gross and didn’t eat them. My wife enjoyed the clam chowder at first but towards the end she was getting a lot of sand in her clams. She said she liked the ribs but it was nothing special. She did order her baked potato with sour cream but they brought it out with butter. She did eventually get it service was very friendly but a little slow/short staffed.

I am not sure if I would call this place family friendly per say maybe if you came with older kids or a baby early in the night it would be okay but with a toddler it is a little upscale. There is limited street parking in the front but plenty of parking in the back and they have a rear entrance/exit.

Overall the food was good not phenomenal (well maybe the bacon was) but good. I feel most of the menu was overpriced ($4.75 for a coke) and a lot of up charges. The exception being the steak I do feel it is a fair price with the standard sides and the sides were huge. I do wish it came with the butter though. Meal came to $111 with no alcoholic drinks.

Stopped by Charred Oak Tavern for the first time. Fantastic overall experience. Good selection of draft beers, went with a Harper Lane Knuckle Buster. They had their award winning Seafood Bisque on special. Gave it a try and thought it was great. Good amount of scallops and lobster. Tried the Charred Oak Burger and upgraded to the truffle fries. Make sure you ask for the garlic aioli to dip the fries. Well worth the upcharge. Had the burger cooked medium and it was fantastic. Burger alone was worth the drive. Plenty of parking behind the building.

First time dinner tnite! We sat at the little back bar. Steve the bartender was fantastic – incredible knowledge of the entire menu and his whiskey knowledge unreal. Food was absolutely fabulous. Awesome first visit experience. Can’t wait to return!

What a great place to belly up to the bar and get some good brew and food at. The atmosphere is a little dark, but in the best cozy kind of way that makes the setting seem more intimate and not like a dungeon. The wood paneling and dark accents really make this place stand out as something FANCY enough, but not gaudy. It’s got a decent amount of seating, though people were waiting as I came at the head of a late lunch rush.

The food speaks for itself from the plates as servers are bringing it to their new homes, fragrance almost jumping off the plate atchya.
My Oysters were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, sorry not sorry for the caps lock, as they were THAT good and I needed to convey that somehow. As a seafood lover and foodie, these were hands down the freshest, tastiest, and most reasonably priced sea boogers I’ve ever had!
My potato skins were hefty, sweet and savory, and the perfect comfort food for the grey and chilly day I had come in for.
I opted for a Non-Alcoholic beer which they had in a can and ready to pour, which went great with my potato dish.

The staff was prompt and offered services and suggestions with a smile. I think it was Rosie who helped me out and she was an dream attending to my needs super well even while getting thrown into a rush. She should get a bonus or I least hope she ia compensated well, watching Wonder woman work over here.

The Bathrooms, floors, and behind the bar were really clean and the cutlery seemed to be washed well so I know they’re doing their cleaning duties well there.

The menu has so many items that caught my eye I cannot wait to go back and try some more! Definitely go here for a tasty bite and you won’t regret it!

Balance between class and casual, attentive staff even with two little ones. Burger was delicious as well as fries. Didnt get the chance to tap into what looked like robust drink offerings. Overall seems like a local gem

Atmosphere is nice — we waited about 30 minutes for a table which we figured would be the case for a Saturday night. We were unfortunately seated at a table that wasn’t cleaned beforehand. Our waiter was incredibly sweet & attentive though so I don’t really have complaints about the overall service. The food was okay, but pricey. I was not impressed with my salmon. The whiskey mashed are yummy. My husband had the Huntsman burger & truffle fries — he loved his meal. We’d be willing to give this place another shot, but definitely more of a special occasion spot.
