Same location new owners same great taste! Under a new name! Big A Sister’s Dumplings.
I’ve been waiting for a dumpling spot here in grass valley. Finally something to brag about! I had the pork dumplings, they come with 12 for $14 which is not bad considering we are in the mountains far away from the bay. They are delicious let me tell you. The dough was a little bit thicker and the filling was on point! I hear they are going to add more of a variety and also Bao buns as well. Coming soon.
I also ordered just a deluxe cheese burger, fries and of course I had to get a root beer. Everything tasted just as it did before the original owners closed. Char broiled, fries extra crispy with a salty goodness all over them. I can’t wait to try the new dumpling menu and maybe next time I’ll get a shake.

Food was honestly sub par I mean I spent $70 for a kids meal, two burgers, and a pesto fry. All the food was cold besides the dumplings. Fries were so cold that I bit into the fry and felt it ice cold almost frozen it felt like. I think it’s not too much to ask for the food to be hot especially if you are paying that much. A little disappointed I hope they get better in the future for the sake of the reputation that they have to uphold. Also two weeks to get ingredients to make root beer???

The Root Beer is on point and the burgers were soooo juicy! The chili cheese fries were so fresh and not great at all! We will certainly be back! The outdoor seating area was great as well! Our dog really enjoyed herself!

So I’m super bummed! My little guy wanted Big As, we hadn’t been there in months but used to love going! I ordered by calling and told the girl I was in the car at the end. My total was over $70 so I went inside and was told the prices went up which is whatever. We’re sitting in the car waiting for food and noticed 35 minutes had gone by. Went inside and was told they had been calling my name. Bring food to car and shakes were so melted the dripped all over me and my car. I went inside and the girl refunded my shakes. So I went back to car Then I went to grab food out of bag and my daughters blt fell everywhere because it was put in upside down. Went home out of frustration where I saw my daughters bacon was burnt, and my sons plain burger had everything on it and the bun was so soggy it was flipping over. Oh and my onion rings had batter still in some of them. I’m very disappointed and won’t be returning

Former A&W hamburger stand. Still has great quality and service. Excellent hamburgers! My son and I stopped here on our way back from the snow. Even he was happy! He’s only the most picky child on this Earth. Juicy thick hamburgers, hot Crunchy fries, amazing root beer float. Plenty of parking. Conveniently located on the roadside. Highly recommended!

Super delicious. We ordered four burgers, two fries and two large root beers. Large portions. Very tasty. Even the bread wasn’t too soft and wasn’t too hard, all ingredients in harmony. They did put cheese on our mushroom burger (we asked for no cheese) but they took care of it and made us another one without cheese!! Service was awesome and the whole drive up experience. Wish we had one of these places where we live. Thank you Big A Rootbeer!

We were treated to a meal at Big A by my boyfriend’s father. He swore by their burgers and they did not disappoint. Do not underestimate the portion sizes! I got a double bacon burger and wasn’t able to finish it. I also tried their root beer which was divine
