I must say that I am a food critic and it’s hard to get 5 stars across the board but Backstreet Grill did not disappoint me. I haven’t been here in about 5 years as it is a tiny spot in the middle of town but the restaurant is cozy, my waiter Ms. Karen was attentive, courteous and kind, and everything I order was exceptional. The wings were crispy but not over cooked, the crab dip was creamy and warm with a delicate bread to savory the taste, the homemade pasta salad add a burst of surprise and the coconut shrimp and boardwalk fries gave me a hint of Ocean City feel. I will be returning to try other items and appreciate the efficiency and timeliness of the food coming out within a reasonable time.
Ms. Karen needs a raise and remember the server sets the tone. AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

Great place for dinner! My husband, my daughter, and I went on a Friday night after a high school basketball game. The restaurant was busy but we were seated within less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend the seafood skins. My husband and daughter each had a burger and I had the Cuban. Everything was delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere was lively, but not overly loud. Great local place!

This was my first time ordering from Back Street Grill and I’m genuinely impressed. I ordered the Cream of Crab, Seafood Skins, and the Fried Oyster entrée—and everything was delicious.
Most of the time, I find myself having to re-season food once I get it home from restaurants around Delmarva, even ones with 4.5+ star ratings. This was one of the rare places where that wasn’t the case. The Cream of Crab was rich, flavorful, and generously meaty. The oysters were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right, and the seafood skins were also excellent.
Definitely one of the few spots I’ll be returning to. Highly recommend!

We got the appetizer seafood stuffed potato skins. They were really the only good thing we got. Meals were the poboy – have had way better. The coconut shrimp tasted freezer burnt. The coleslaw was good and fries were average. The service was the worst part. We were seated right away and after a few minutes a woman came up to take a drink order… she did not introduce herself or anything. I’m glad we caught her before she hurried away to tell her what we wanted as an apatizers. She didn’t come back again instead hung out behind the bar until our apatizers was ready and she got our food order. She then hung out behind the bar again until our food was ready and brought that out. She never checked on us again and never refilled our drinks. We had to ask the hostess to get us more water. Waitress seemed more interested in being behind the bar and socializing then helping her customer. We will be trying another resturant in the future.

We had the crab dip appetizer, a crab cake sandwich, and a burger. Food was ok, not bad just nothing special. Service was on point for how busy it was. The atmosphere was ok. A bit too crowded for me, but I guess that means alot of people like it. Overall a solid 3 star place. I probably wouldn’t frequent this place, but if friends were going there. I wouldn’t avoid it either.

The food was excellent. Had great specials. Came in on a snow day. The only complaint I have is that our waitress was terrible. I think she was high on something because her eyes were bugging. She looked directly at my female friend and called her “sir”. She handed us our check before we ordered dessert, assuming we didnt want any. The cake was absolutely delicious. I had a wonderful salad with a cup of maryland crab soup. My husband and his friend ordered the goulash and garlic bread and I’ve never seen someone eat a meal so fast. Fortunately my husband saved some for me to try. Its a shame that the amazing work of the chefs has to be tainted by poor service. She sS just rushing around, very brash, and kinda scary. Margarita was good as well.

We go here on and off. It’s a decent place with decent prices. I always get the burger, but I wish they would season the meat—it’s just so bland. On the other hand, the French dip was extremely salty. I really hope they taste what they send out. The highlight of our dinner was the crab dip; it was delicious.

Good place to stop and eat while you are out shopping between DE and MD or simply if you want to watch weekend games. Cream of Crap Soup was a bit thin, but the taste was awesome!! Ph. Steak was great. Like the variety in the menu. Love the ladies serving-hard working and alwayz on point.

The sandwiches are good, but the best aspect of this checking business lunch on the patio was the French fries. I asked the server for his recommendation, and he aptly suggested the natural French fries. They are cooked nearly to the point of dryness, but the fry ends perfectly at the point of delightful crunch. The only correction that I can offer is obligatory toasting of the sliced bread on the sandwiches. So much character is lost when the bread compresses through biting to a texture similar to the cheese, but I would return with the suggestion if I ever visited the client again.
