My first time experiencing Ethiopian food and we couldn’t have picked a better place!!! The food was obviously the star, but the hospitality elevated the entire experience to a whole other level!! Loved it!!!
With the warmest of welcome, our host Seble showed us to our reserved table. She walked us through the menu, lively conversations and promised to serve us food that we will definitely love! That confidence and the pride with which Seble served us the food, she won us over with just that!! We enjoyed the food thoroughly and wiped our plate clean. The joy of seeing our empty plate and her victory dance was the highlight of our night!!! What an amazing experience!!! Thank you Seble, you’ve set the bar really high now
We opted for the Queen’s 8 platter course and Seble connected the dots and realized that our Indian palate appreciates a higher level of spice and paid special attention to it. While we enjoyed the honey wine and some Ethiopian beers, the kitchen prepared our special platter and we enjoyed every last bite of the delicious plate of food served to us with extra helpings of the soft injera.
The chicken, lamb and beef were scrumptious! The lentils and veggies were equally delicious What a treat!!
Highly recommend this restaurant, the experience & we cannot wait to eat at Queen of Sheba again!
This was our second time ever having Ethiopian food, but our first time at this restaurant, and it completely exceeded expectations. We drove over an hour to get here since we don’t have an Ethiopian restaurant near us — and it was 100% worth the drive. We will definitely be back.
We ordered two family-style platters for a family of six and there were zero leftovers — every bite was that good. We also had the tomato, onion, and jalapeño salad along with a few appetizers, and everything was absolutely delicious.
If you’re thinking about trying Ethiopian food or already love it, this place is a must-visit. Worth the drive, worth the hype, and an unforgettable meal. ️
She also invited me to have the Coffee ceremony with her and her friends, we talked about life and built a great connection!
Definitely going back again.
As we waited to be served, we watched another party of two women come in and seat themselves at a similar table without issue. They were given menus promptly and weren’t asked to move. Eventually, they relocated themselves to a smaller table—but the difference in treatment was noticeable.
We ordered sweet iced tea and were served hot tea instead. When we asked for the correct order, the replacement tea still wasn’t sweet. I asked for water instead, but it was never brought to the table. Throughout the visit, the staff did not seem particularly friendly or attentive.
What stood out even more was that the waiter explained the food selections in detail to most other tables—but when it came to our “chef’s choice” items, we had to ask for clarification ourselves. It felt like we were consistently overlooked, and that definitely impacted the overall experience. To top it off, when it came time to pay, the waiter had already preselected a higher tip amount—so double-check your bill before finalizing your payment.
That said, the atmosphere was quaint and charming—this spot has potential, and it was still worth the visit for a new experience. I just hope the service and consistency improve in the future.
I visited this restaurant in Tampa and clearly ordered a vegetarian plate, explicitly stating that I am a strict/pure vegetarian. Despite this, I was served beef in the dish, Sambusa veggie plater
This is not a minor mistake for someone with dietary and personal restrictions. Serving meat after confirming a vegetarian order shows a serious lapse in food handling, communication, and accuracy. I stopped eating immediately once I realized the issue.
Restaurants offering vegetarian options have a responsibility to ensure orders are prepared and served correctly, especially when customers clearly communicate their restrictions. This experience was disappointing and concerning.
I am posting this review so other vegetarians can be cautious and so the restaurant can improve its practices going forward.
