Two things I found interesting were that instead of the standard red and green salsa served this restaurant serve serves a kind of spicy coleslaw along with the red salsa. Additionally, I learned that what we think of as Piccadilly, ground beef with nuts, raisins, peppers; here, it is just shredded beef what I know of as carne deshebrada. But because of my love of the cuisine of Mexico, I always like to check out how it varies in the states of Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and now Wyoming.
And then something interesting happened. Our waitress told us she was fine Honduras and I had the aha moment. Repoyo!!! Like one has with pupusas!
The food lacked flavours. It looked beautiful but didn’t taste as good.
The enchiladas was served kind of warm, like it was sitting for a long time after cooking. Nothing special actually.
The chicken sizzler’s also lacked flavours and was very bland. The corn tortillas served with it were also not very fresh.
The rice with all the food also didn’t cook well and were kind of cold.
For dessert, ordered the churros & the another one (forgetting the name of it). They loaded with up with whipped cream and more syrup and even more sweet cherries for garnish. It kind of ruined the taste of the churros. It was overloaded with sugar.
The margarita was good.
The server & her service was very good. She was very quick and attentive.
But unfortunately I did not enjoy my meal here.
Everything was good but the queso(for me anyways) stood out as the highlight of the meal.
Oooooweeee that some good queso
Got an enchilada combo plus a sizzler type chicken platter. Enchilada was okay. The grilled chicken (Polo Asado) was amazing. The chicken was perfectly smoky and juicy!
