I don’t often leave reviews, but this was bad.

The chips are generic yellow round tortilla chips from a bag. They’re also very stingy with the chips, regardless of group size (there were 7 of us). If you want anything, even remotely resembling salsa, dump the Cholula in their watered-down tomato paste. No onions, peppers, or cilantro — just the occasional chunk of soggy tomato.

For the price, you’d expect that they’d include rice and beans, considering that’s standard at most Mexican restaurants. For the record, they were the best part. Good portions, at least.

We waited 20 minutes to be sat at a table, only to wait an additional 20 to be served. This isn’t my main concern, as it’s a thing that happens, but I figured I’d mention it for those of you who don’t have time for that.

The food was just as mediocre as I expected. Solid chunks of fat in the shredded beef didn’t come as a surprise. I would not be shocked to find out that what is made from scratch is made with very little effort.

This should not be called “Mexican Village.” It is anything but. Go to any other Mexican place in town. You’ll almost certainly spend less and at least get edible food.

To the owners: Stop chasing margins and make something worth eating. Stop being cheap. I’ll take Taco Bell over this. My God.

To the staff: I don’t blame you for not being able to get to everyone when you’re understaffed. Our waitress was friendly when we did get to speak to her.

I live in Southern California and appreciate good Mexican food. This place was clean but I won’t call it authentic. The chips were out of a bag and not freshly made. The salsa was more like bland tomato sauce void of any flavor. At that point I decided to pay for my drink and not order any additional items. I would not recommend this restaurant. Any true salsa should have at least a jalapeno and cilantro. The place was empty during prime dinner time.

We came here for dinner. We ended up sitting at the bar. Our bartender was helpful with suggestions and knew the menue well. They have a great line of flavors for margaritas. We got the dinner combo. The enchilada was good but not great. I was expecting more flavor. The beans and rice were very good, perhaps the best I’ve had. Overall, our experience was good. We will be back.

Went there for the first time I had to say this is a decent Mexican restaurant to us. The meals were pretty good, but for some reason their special sauce that comes with the seafood burrito actually goes really well with the Pollo FUNDIDO.

Staff was quick and friendly and gave us a jug of water when we said, we were incredibly thirsty and requested one!

Have you tried the new street tacos at Mexican Village? If you haven’t, you’re missing out on an explosion of flavor! These are the absolute best authentic version of Mexican Street tacos in Fargo, ND.

Our friend liked his burrito a lot. The salsa was ok but not hot at all. It was more like tomato sauce. My husband and I shared the Fajitas. We thought the meat had good flavor but don’t get enough tortillas. The beans were nasty due to being over cooked so very dry. The rice was the same way with it being to the point of crunchy. Our sever was very forgetful and we had to ask for things several times. All in all we wouldn’t go back for something that is just ok.

Good service. Had dine-in. Food was ok. I had fajitas to accommodate my dairy allergy, and the lack of dairy impacted flavor. They did an excellent job accommodating though.

This is a local favorite of mine but this location fairly new. The restaurant is large and tonight maybe due to bad weather out not crowded. The server was so friendly and welcoming. We ordered a flight of tacos and shared then we had a very delicious fried ice cream dessert. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. It’s a big place and you could easily eat with a large group here.

I hate that I’m writing this review. Mexican Village has been one of my favorites when I visited Fargo for the last 15 years. Whether we sat in the restaurant or bar, the service was amazing. I’m not an uppity “this isn’t authentic” types of people either. I know what I’m getting when I go here. Americanized Mexican food. I love the salsa so much I could drink it. We went in last weekend to the bar. The chips and salsa were great, like usual. They now bring about 8 chips out at a time along with a shot glass of salsa for each person. Still tastes amazing. Waiting 10 mins to get refills sucks. Way understaffed, menu prices have seemingly doubled, and everything took forever. Our waitress was a nice person, just very slow. I am so bummed as this was always our go-to in Fargo. I hope they right the ship before its too late.

More of Tex/Mex place but the food is very good. They have thier own unique seafood chimichanga, a secret recipe that is delicious. Beans and rice have a lot of flavor. Ask for the hot salsa-very rich-a recipe from one of the cooks from Mexico. Bartender and shift manager very personable and fun with interesting stories of Fargo.
