I visited Lupa in NYC with a group from work and had a great experience overall. The service was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, and made the meal feel seamless. The food was solidly good, with the meat and fish dishes standing out as the highlights for me. Everything was well-prepared and flavorful.
I’m not a huge fan of pasta in general, so it’s hard for me to evaluate, but I didn’t find the pasta dishes particularly amazing. They were good, but nothing that wowed me.
Overall, Lupa is a great spot for Italian food, especially if you enjoy well-cooked proteins. The ambiance was welcoming, and it’s a solid choice for a group dinner. Would definitely return!

Lupa has a warm, rustic charm that transports you straight to Rome, though the tables are packed a bit too close for comfort. The service was friendly and efficient, striking a nice balance between attentive and unobtrusive. The menu had a great selection of Roman classics, which got me excited. I started with the Carbonara, expecting something rich and indulgent, but it was underwhelming—missing that velvety, peppery punch. The Bolognese was fine, nothing groundbreaking, but satisfying enough. Despite the mixed experience with the food, the overall vibe and hospitality made for an enjoyable evening.

Food was great. We had the octopus, steak, pork chop and tiramisu. The pork chop was AWESOME. The wine was delicious. Not sure why this place has 4.3 stars. It was great.

Our recent lunch at Lupa Osteria Romana on Thompson Street was a fantastic experience, perfectly timed before catching the 8 PM show at nearby Blue Note. The outdoor seating offered a lovely setting for a relaxed meal, as seen in the photo.
We enjoyed several delicious dishes, including flavorful Meatballs, a unique and tasty Spinach with Pear, Panelle & Speck, and a refreshing Beets Salad.
A significant highlight of our visit was a special promotion: we received a 50% discount on a bottle of wine over $300. This was a unique offer due to the restaurant’s ongoing merger process, making our meal even more exceptional.
The service was excellent, and the overall experience was delightful. Lupa Osteria Romana truly delivers on quality Italian cuisine and is highly recommended, especially for a pre-show dinner.

Make sure you make a reservation for dinner because it gets busy very fast! Food was delicious and staff were very friendly. I would love to come back and try some of the other pasta options. Highly recommend the lamb dish which is the perfect amount for 3 people. You can expect to pay around $50-$100 per person (depending on drinks), but the price is worth it. There is outdoor seating as well but I did not see anyone there since it was a pretty cold night.

Italian mainstay in the Village, my first visit. Wonderful server and pleasant ambiance. Appetizers were good and well prepared but pretty ordinary. Good cocktails. I had the cod, not a particularly Italian preparation but very tasty and fresh. Points deducted for the contorni (side dishes), lackluster, chewy and frankly kind of weird. The place was packed at 8 pm on a Monday night so they must be doing something right.

First of hopefully many visits to this delightfully cozy establishment. Extensive wine list and steady advice for pairings. The meatballs alone are reason enough to return! Portions are appropriately sized. Everything I have samples thus far has been delicious. Very well done

The food and the service is fantastic at Lupa! Five stars service! Our server was amazing and the atmosphere incredible, it feels like in a tratoria in Rome! the octopus and Arancini were absolutely good, and the wine list it’s out of this world! We had a perfect table next to the wall.

Very nice, old school Italian spot! Loved the dim lighting and vibe of the place, only thing I didn’t like was the music playing.
But as for the food, enjoyed the focaccia they bring out! The wine is enough for a glass and a third. Really liked the rigatoni gricia and the paparadelle was handmade and very light!
For dessert we loved the affogato and the tartufo!

Came for a nice dinner with my girlfriend while we were in NY last summer. Our meals were both delicious and it was great to try some Roman style Italian food. The arancini & crispy brussels sprouts sprouts were both excellent as well as our main dishes. Definitely holds up in a city filled with many excellent Italian spots and would recommend a visit here.
