What a great place for a casual relaxing meal I ordered the fish and coleslaw along with a bowl of chowder ❤️ Oh my goodness, it was delicious! The fish was soo fresh the ocean hasn’t missed it yet The chowder had a lot of clams and the base had excellent flavor. I loved that the restaurant was on the dock! Soo awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Avila is a beautiful peaceful little town I can’t wait to return here.

We had a great lunch at Mersea’s Seafood Restaurant. The clam chowder was very good and full of clams and the steamed clams were cooked perfect with the right amount of broth and seasoning. Also you can’t ask for a better view while eating lunch. The staff were pleasant and accommodating.

This was a real favorite of ours as we went there twice for dinner. Even though it was slightly cold when we went, they were heating lamps outside, and it was really beautiful to dine outside and to be right on the water. We also had entertainment from some sea lions, which was fun. The service was great and everyone was really friendly and the food was delicious. There were many great seafood, fresh and fried options. We highly recommend this place and really enjoyed going and we can’t wait to go again.

Outlandishly good food right there on the pier. What is there not to like? The fish and chips were quite good and so was the fried calamari. The clam chowder in a bread bowl, superb. Not a fan of shellfish, but I could manage to keep the fried oysters down! Love the ambience and setting. Will definitely come here again.

Very good brownies. The waitress messed up the allergies a couple of times and did not seem to care. During rush hours, don’t plan to get seat. It is very cold outside past sunset so I suggest the inside if your going to eat dinner.

We came on a Thursday evening and were able to park at the end of the pier next to the restaurant. We were able to order and get a seat at the bar right away.
Clam chowder and house salad were both good. The shrimp cocktail was average.
