This was my first time dining here. My sister made sure were the before the crowd. This is a busy restaurant. This restaurant has been in this location near the train tracks in the Lancaster area for over twenty years. The decor of the restaurant is a ton of memorabilia of the railroad, vehicle license plates from all over the United States, and the evolution of their menus over the years. The food is amazing and you will receive a plate full of food at a really reasonable price. Our server was Kim and she was amazing. There is plenty of free parking.

The Ortega omelet was awful. The meat was old and stale. The biscuits and gravy was good but it wasn’t worth it at $20 per plate. The portion size is large but it doesn’t matter if the food is no good. The server sucked. She was super rude with a big old attitude and she didn’t give a hoot. The omelet isn’t really an omelet. It’s a big egg crape filled with onions, bell pepper, cheese and chunks of steak. By the way they charge extra for pepper jack cheese but they don’t tell you that it’s extra. The place didn’t have many customers during lunch time, only a couple tables. Maybe that says something.

Fun spot. MASSIVE pancakes!
Could eat only half the plate.
The picture don’t do it justice..the 3 short stack pancakes were at least 10 inches wide and stood about 4 inches tall.

I’ve never seen portions this big!
We came to Crazy Otto’s for breakfast this weekend, and it was superb!
They offer classic American breakfast food with a little Mex twist (eggs, bacon, hash browns, chorizo, burritos). The food was excellent and felt very homestyle. The standouts for me (though they are a side dish) were the biscuits and gravy. I was pleasantly surprised to see them on the menu, and even more impressed with the flavor. They were super flaky, and the gravy was hearty and thick. Most plates range from 15-20 dollars, and are more than enough to fill you up. We all came back with leftovers, so I’d say it was well worth the price.
The restaurant itself was very quirky and unique. The atmosphere was very 50s California, lined with license plates and memorabilia.
The waitresses are incredibly kind and funny. They have great recommendations and know the menu like the back of their hands. Service was great and really fast.
I recommend

The Eggs Benedict was average. Every other order that I saw was HUGE an looked good. I may need to return and order better.

Well I cant say 4 or 5 ordered a steak medium well and it was still stringy inside. The meat didn’t taste fresh like it was tauged and no seasoning. The hash browns tasted like it was drowned in water a night before crunchy and not cooked to perfection. Over all it was good but not to my level.

I have been all around the United States, and in my honest opinion the Antelope Valley is blessed with the best greasy spoon in the nation! No one beats Crazy Ottos biscuits and gravy. They serve you so much food, one meal could feed a family of four. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Best place ever!

This is hands down the best and safest place to get breakfast. It makes the Denny’s across the street feel more like a McDonald’s. They serve generous portions and are great with coffee refills. I didn’t have the same experience at their other location on Avenue I. The atmosphere felt rougher and even the food didn’t taste as good. I’m not sure if it was the environment but overall this spot is a solid choice for breakfast.
