We went for dinner here to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We had never been here but was instantly pleasantly surprised. The food and atmosphere were great! We had delicious chicken with sides of salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, greenbeans and corn served family style. Margaret was our server, she was amazing! She helped to make our night very special. At the end of our meal she brought out our ice cream along with chocolate cake, a thick slice of heaven, with 3 candles representing “our past, our present and our future. She wished us a Happy Anniversary and thanked us for coming here to celebrate! We will definitely stop in again

We had a party of 6 and we were seated immediately. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day so it was getting very busy. We did have a reservation. Our waitress, which was Margaret Ransberger was phenomenal. She was very attentive to all of our needs. Going forward, we will request Margaret and we will be returning soon. The food is amazing. Loved everything about it.

Had not eaten here since 1999 and was extremely excited to be able to dine here again after 26 years. Very clean and cozy atmosphere as always. The chicken and sides were AMAZING!
What we did not appreciate was the server’s reluctance to point out any alternatives on the menu. All he wanted to “sell” us was the most expensive item on the menu. We conveyed we were not hungry enough to both eat the family style chicken. Ask if we could buy one family style and a vegtable only entre, which was about $28, which is ridiculous for sides only, and were warned “NO SHARING THE CHICKEN.” I finally discovered on my own, that there was a reduced portion chicken dinner, which the server refused to state how many pieces were included. He stated “it depends on the size.” In actuality, it came with 2 very large chicken breasts. Perfect for us.
We also observed the other server’s doing the same “upselling” thing like McDonald’sand Jiffy Lube, so we believe management may be coaching and training the servers to do this to increase revenue and tips.
Lastly, when we were leaving, the hostess, who had no customers, failed to say hope you enjoyed your meal, come see us again or thank. Outside entran e was very dirty and noticed a lot of rust on the hand rails on the steps and also the outdoor furniture.
In summary, now that we cracked the code on the menu, we may get carry out, but will not pay extra to eat due to the way the staff behaves.

Oh my goodness the food here is amazing! Fried chicken is excellent and all the sides were absolutely delicious! If you love chicken livers, this place has the best I have EVER had!!! Their salmon was exquisite! Will definitely be eating here again and again!

I enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good. The chicken was good, too. But the salad and sides were sad in all honesty. They could really raise the bar by serving fresh green beans, for instance. If you were paying for food alone, it would be overpriced. HollyHock really shines with its family style dining. This place seems best fit for larger parties. I would give this place 3.5 stars if possible.

The food was very good the service was definitely great our server Tracy made sure we did not have to ask for anything also every single piece of the food was delicious the only complaint I have about the whole place is I wish they had Coke Zero I took pictures of the menu so that you can see the actual prices and the guy told me that they no longer serve filet mignon as an entree option

Good homecookin’ type restaurant. The salad dressing is a sweet oil and really good. The chicken was good along with the sides. Shrimp was ok. The sides were really good. Finished off with some ice cream, and your choice of syrups to add.

Ordered legs and breast. The legs were thin, scrawny and had very little meat. The breast was very small and bent almost in half. Upon first sight I thought it was a thigh. Very, very disappointed. The last time I had HOLLYHOCK chicken, the legs were plump, juicy and meaty and at least twice the size of this order. The breast were more than twice the size. I spent over $28 for 5 legs and one breast. PATHETIC

I went to Hollyhock Hill with my 2 year old daughter after seeing it rated as a top family friendly restaurant on google. When I arrived, and we walked inside, I was a bit thrown off by how nice everything looked, figuring we were underdressed and maybe it was a bit too nice of a place to bring a two year old. I was happily mistaken! The staff were incredibly friendly, and did more than just tolerate Olivia but made it clear she was welcome! They had us planned for a table for 2 across from each other, but were more than happy to move us to a larger table so that I could sit beside her. They talked to her, had no issues exchanging her drink, and when she almost immediately knocked it over, cleaned it all with a smile and made sure we (especially Olivia, who was saying sorry) knew that everything was okay.
On top of all of that, the food was outstanding. From the biscuits (fresh, warm, and light) and apple butter, to the sweet tea, the chicken, not one item was a disappointment. I’d say the biscuits were some of the best bread I’ve been served at any restaurant. And the bill was far less than I was expecting for such great food and service. I’m already my next drive out to take my wife and other daughter there!
