A lovely little restaurant by the water with a nice outdoor atmosphere, but all the tables outside were taken so we sat inside. Service was great – the staff works fast and are very friendly. Overall, the food was good, I’d give it a solid four stars. I especially loved the Eggplant Tower – highly recommend, it was really delicious! The burger was a bit on the dry side; I ordered it with lettuce instead of bread. Overall, a pleasant spot, worth coming back.

The restaurant is large, it has outdoor & indoor seating, as well as a bar area. Unfortunately the outdoor seating doesn’t really have a direct view of Lake Paupack.
We sat inside at a large booth.

They have a full cocktail menu. The women sitting behind us ordered a pumpkin cocktail.

Their menus is big, lots to choose from. Appetizers included wings, eggplant stack and more.
Entrees include salads, soup, burgers, and full entrees.
My aunt had the eggplant stack and liked it. I had ahi tuna on salad, the tuna was fresh, delicious and came with a homemade ginger dressing.
My uncle enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana served on a large bed of spaghetti. The serving was quite large

The service was good.

tried to order take out the girl on the phone was rude when she was the one responsible for the choppy call so we came out to eat. My boyfriend and I were waiting 15 minutes for service when it wasn’t even busy waiting another five for drinks, waited even longer to even had our order taken, out of at least 3 choices, appetizers were the only thing that was good my boyfriend got the boneless wings that were hard and didn’t come with celery, was told i would have to wait for my steak because they are out of mashed potatoes ended up being told it would be another 30 so subbed with fries, the steak was inedible no flavor more burnt then steak and i ordered it medium. The chef’s vegetable was undercooked and we waited forever for our server to come back and ask if everything was good, our server didn’t give us any friendly interaction or her name waited even longer for to go box and check

The spinach ricotta ravioli was fine. The bitterness of the cooked spinach seeped into the basil pesto sauce which ruined the flavor of the tomatoes. There was a weird after taste when eating the ravioli by itself. The crab stuffed flounder was also okay but the rice was watery and undercooked.

The atmosphere was fine even though it was mostly empty. Everything was fine – nobody did anything wrong and all food was edible. The quality of the food however was disappointing, especially considering the price. This food was worse quality and higher price than the diner.

I’ve never written a review in my life but felt so compelled to this time.

Dirty, and extremely cheap silverware. Ripped booth seats covered with tape. Tables seem to be just refinished and you can unintentionally take the finish off if you’re not careful.

Bar menu, ridiculously expensive. You can get cheaper drinks at the local casinos. Didn’t have a bunch of the beers on the menu. Misspellings all over the menu, an elementary school child could have written it better, not a joke. Anyway, settled for a Heineken, I’m delivered a somewhat cold bottle with no glass, interesting. During dinner asked for another and I had to ask the waitress to clear the empty bottle off the table.

They apparently got rid of their iconic salad & dressing. No bread. Laughable. I got the Swordfish Margarita. Simply gross, almost inedible… seriously. I’m convinced it was cooked, then frozen, and reheated in a microwave. It was so overcooked it was almost like eating a cheap, dried out, chewy piece of steak. The sauce was really gross, but maybe it was just me, the best way I can explain it… regurgitated lemon meringue pie. The rice was hard, not undercooked type of hard, but as if it was exposed to the air for at least a day then reheated when I ordered it. The broccoli was not cooked at all basically.

I am very flexible and worked in the restaurant industry for a few years, I get it, you’ll never make everyone happy. This is beyond that. This is self sabotage and the destruction & disrespect of something that was once great.

I can only imagine a non-local who had no clue what this place was bought it and is focusing on the visiting, vacationing crowd. They of course will get them, but I’d genuinely be shocked if they get repeat customers, and all of the locals are aware of the pitiful state of this once great staple of Lake Wallenpaupack.

Maybe when the restaurant inevitably changes ownership again it will be revived into something better.

I apologized to my mother for bringing her there, it genuinely ruined our night.

Service was very slow, table was dirty the most of our lunch- we had to ask to have cups and plates removed. After being served our meal he finally took the empty appetizer plates that sat empty for 10 minutes. Refill cups are left at the table as well they just bring you a new one. We were 1 or 3 tables so the possibly of good service was really do-able in my opinion.. The kids chicken tenders were rock soil and smelled of fish. Kids mac and cheese is a bow tie noodle that appears to be microwaved with sliced cheese. Pretty gross. Crab cake sandwich was burn on the outside and total mush and no flavor inside. Buffalo chicken wrap was extremely small to be served as a meal but was ok…. We traveled to try this joint and unfortunately waisted our day, belly aches on the ride home!

Dining at The Boat House was a great experience. The ambiance was inviting, setting the stage for a memorable meal. Highlights included the flawlessly crispy catfish, golden calamari, and an exceptional eggplant tower that impressed us all. While the penne with vodka pasta and chicken waffle were decent, they didn’t quite match up to the other offerings.

The pork chops were another highlight, perfectly juicy and delicious. Our meal was further enhanced by an inventive cocktail menu that didn’t disappoint. The strawberry cheesecake for dessert was simply divine, ending our meal on a high note.

A special mention must go to our server, whose kindness and attentiveness made our dining experience even more special. The Boat House is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious food and impeccable service.

Love this place! Whenever I’m in Lake Wallenpaupack I just have to come here! The food is great and the staff is very punctual and friendly. The food comes out quickly and is very fresh. I got the cheeseburger and it was big enough to feed 2 people. I also got the calamari, in the winter, and it was some of the freshest calamari I’ve ever had. It was tender and I could tell they batter them themselves and it’s not frozen! Looking forward to going back again ❤️❤️❤️. Great place, very comfortable and family friendly. Close to the lake and they have a big parking lot!

Where did the good reviews come from? I guess there were before they changed owners about 18 months ago. We found out the hard way.

We came here after reading the reviews for a late lunch. Also, lots of restaurants in this area are not open M-Thurs. for lunch anyway. Upon arrival, we noticed the musty smell that was close to dirty socks or unwashed feet. Lacking options, we stayed. The restaurant was empty- we thought service would be fast. No, it took more than half an hour to get our food even though we were the only patrons. The food was the biggest disappointment after all. The chicken sandwich was cold and tasted like rubber. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 sandwiches. Only the pulled pork sandwich was edible. Wow!! Worst food in our lives in all the continents we have ever been to. Not recommending to any friend. Enemies, go ahead.
