This was a really good experience with really good food, add mustard greens that were different than I’m used to but incredibly tasty. Seafood gumbo what’s made with a nice Brown gravy and a lot of flavor. I never had boudin balls before, and they were exceptionally good as well.

I was waiting for my dive boat to come in and this was the closest restaurant to the dock. The portions were huge. Giant iron pan of excellent cornbread. Good selection of American comfort foods. Good fish. Very reasonable price. Excellent service. Clean facilities.

I’ve been here several times throughout my life and it’s always been good. The cornbread and the coleslaw is one of many items that sets this place apart.
You can’t really have a bad meal here. The fried seafood is always good and the onion rings are some of the best around. I got the steak and shrimp most recently and it was decent. A little tough but it’s probably because I ordered it a little overcooked. The Cajun grilled shrimp was really good.
I would also recommend a margarita on the rocks if you are looking for a drink.
Definitely come and check this place out if you have never been. 10/10 absolutely recommend.

The last time I ate there was in 2001 and the free appetizer of delicious corn bread with pickled onions was great. I returned in 2026 and the appetizer is half the size and no longer free, and very noticeably, different hands are making the appetizers and the food. It was a late lunch around 2:30 pm and only two other tables were being served.

2nd time back in 1 week! The Eggplant Parm is AMAZING!! I love this restaurant, and the staff.
The entire staff welcomed us like family. Inside is cozy with rustic farm house decor, and original hardwood floors. The home made cole slaw & corn bread would make my grandmother jealous! Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. We definitely will be regular customers.

The appetizer of cornbread and gumbo was fun and different and had excellent flavors. Hushpuppies were spot on perfect. The grilled seafood was better than the fried IMO. The batter seemed to be thick on the fried seafood. Dessert was dried out cake with no flavor. Looking back, we think it was Italian Cream cake, but not sure? Because of the poor quality dessert, we felt we had to lower the food rating to a 3. The service was very friendly and efficient and correct.

Wonderful service, great food. Cheyenne, our waitress was very helpful with my dad’s very strict diet. They have a large gluten-free menu. They have grilled options if you don’t want fried food. Very nice atmosphere. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!

One of my family members wanted a chicken fried steak with extra mashed potatoes. I confirmed the order 3 times. When I walked into the establishment it was beyond. Nothing but the servers laughing and joking. I felt like I was not taken seriously. One of my father’s last meals he wanted was from on the river! I confirmed a chicken fried steak with extra mashed potatoes and gravy on the side 3 times. When I walked in it looked more like a child’s play ground instead of a restaurant! I don’t know if this is why they got my dad’s last meal incorrect or what!??? Highly disappointed. Simple chicken fried steak with extra mashed potatoes and gravy on the side.
