The food at O’Lydia’s is excellent, and the atmosphere is always great. Unfortunately, our experiences with service have been inconsistent due to repeatedly being served by the same individual whose attitude has consistently been rude, inattentive, and unwelcoming.

My fiancé and I have been coming here regularly for about a year—roughly 20 visits—and this server has waited on us approximately 5–7 times. Each time, the experience has been the same. It took that many visits for me to finally write a review, which should say a lot, as I normally don’t leave reviews.

On our most recent visit, the server immediately told us she was about to get off work and that the kitchen was closing early, despite it being midnight with a full house. (Kitchen closed at 1 AM) She was already gathering her personal belongings while serving us, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome from the moment we sat down. Requests for extras often went unanswered, even after asking multiple times.

What’s most disappointing is that we’ve brought many friends and groups here over the past year, and more than ten people have independently shared the same concerns about this particular server. Everyone else we’ve encountered at this restaurant has been great, which makes this stand out even more. Waitress name I believe is Brianne or branne idk something like that . “Died red hair “!!!!

This place has become a tradition for my fiancé and me since moving to Wisconsin, and we truly want to see it succeed. The food and environment deserve service that matches their quality. We hope management can address this, as it significantly impacts the overall experience.

The food is still amazing—we just wish the service consistently reflected the same level of care.

Update: changed my review from 5 to 3 stars for prices. The food it makes sense for (if only for the portions), but I have never seen a just okay Wisconsin old fashioned at this price anywhere in this state, especially not at a pub style bar/restaurant. They were 1/2 off last night, and I still paid $8. Unless we didn’t actually get the sale price, that means they are normally $16. I used to work at a bar where we would hand-make so many different bits of cocktails and used very high quality ingredients for the ones we didn’t, and our old fashioned was still $10.

I would still come here again if nothing else but for the food, but I would never get another old fashioned here. The beer has the best value.

This is a very chill bar. We were brought in by the specials today (all pretty good deals, especially for the portions given). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was all fantastic; the wait after ordering was maybe 5-7 minutes, and it was all very solid flavor-wise (so much so that I forgot to get a picture of it all). Nothing too remarkable but very easy to eat, and very generous portions. They were also very generous with the pickle slices that came with my sandwich!!! Would absolutely come here again and would recommend friends come here.

We had lunch today at O’Lydia’s, a cool local bar that serves a strong variety of beers on tap (we only had two). But we did have fried eggplant, fried jalapeño poppers, and fried cheese curds. Service and food were great.

Great Milwaukee bar, decent selection of tap craft beers, good drink specials, friendly customers and staff. The food is good, not anything to brag about though. Solid pub burgers, wings were dried out though.

I’d planned on a fish fry before the Brewers game but ran out of time so I tried to go here after the game, but they already gone to their late night menu by the time I got there there was a big Brewers crowd in there after a horrible loss of the Cubs, they were very upbeat. There were no couple people around thank goodness The dining room was absolutely empty and I sat in there and finally had the flag down the staff member to find out if the dining room was open, which it was and I then found out that they no longer had fish fry cause they were on their late night menu so I had a I think in Italian beef sandwich or some variation of it and it was very good and I enjoyed it and then I had a bus to catch at 3 AM at the Intermodel bus station a few blocks north of there and I noticed there were two bars on Google maps that were halfway between here and there one of them I had to go left from the bar the restaurant I was at and one of them I had to go right and I asked the staff for suggestion and he said well the one to the left, which is Arts bar art art something just ask Art I think it’s called and he said that’s a real dive bar and I said sold and so I went there and almost got in a fight with Art after he kicked me out so but that’s a plus for Art‘s bar so I said I give them a five stars also and a five star atmosphere for this place for Lydia‘s because of the unique service I was given thank you the guys there and gals and the kitchen stuff they were great

O’Lydia’s is an awesome Irish Bar. Always great bar food. Decent prices and big portions. A big menu with a lot of options. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Also a great location, just south of Downtown MKE and the Milwaukee River on 1st St, on the edge of Walker’s Point. Shuttles to sports and big events. Pictured is the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Triple B Burger (Bacon, blue cheese, Buffalo). The Triple B is awesome and the wings are great. I went back and got the Hangover Burger which was awesome also.

Definitely more than what you expect from a normal bar. The menu here is very generous and won’t disappoint a foodie.

Two things I like about this place. First it being very convenient, on more than just one aspect. It’s convenient to go to, convenient to park, convenient to order.

The second is the wide and diverse menu. The menu is definitely inspired by Irish cuisine but also slightly untraditional at the same time.

The place offers multiple seating options including outdoor patio. Whether you prefer dark ambience or light one, you will find an “okay” spot for you in here.

The service is very good. Fast and attentive. No complaints here.

I like their French Fries. The Reuben rolls are fantastic. Everything we tried here was definitely above okay.

I will be coming back again.

Very chill atmosphere. Me and my friend stumbled upon this place heading back from the Irish Festival. The service was awesome, and the bar patrons were super friendly. The homemade fries were absolutely amazing! I will definitely come back here in the future when I’m in town!

We happened to just come across O’Lydia’s on our way back from a brewery tour. We weren’t sure what to expect as the interior is not as modernized as other businesses. However, the craft beer selection was great and the food was even better. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and it has to be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! It was piping hot, the flavor profile was impeccable, and the house made chips were delicious. My husband had a Hangover Burger which looked great, and the crispy fries were amazing! We’re from Chicago, but we will be back!
