10/10 do not recommend. Waited 1.5 hours for the food. My son got his food 15 minutes before my daughter and I. Food was bland and you can’t even hear yourself think. Rice was mushy.

I have been a loyal customer of El Portrillio and truly enjoyed dining here in the past. That is why this experience was so disappointing.
On a previous visit, I ordered the Burrito Supreme with ground beef and became sick afterward. Today, I returned and specifically requested chicken. I was served ground beef again. When I cut into the burrito, much of the meat was visibly pink and undercooked.
I calmly brought this to the attention of my waitress, Anne. Instead of concern or apology, she and another staff member laughed while removing the plate. That response was deeply unprofessional and dismissive, especially regarding a food safety issue.
Undercooked ground beef is not a small oversight. It poses real health risks. Customers should not have to worry about whether their meal is safe to eat.
I paid $15.01 for a meal I could not consume and left feeling disrespected. I hope management addresses both food preparation standards and staff professionalism so that other guests do not have a similar experience.
I will not be returning.

I’ve eaten at El Portrillio before and thought it was good, especially the Burrito Supreme. But today I saw something that really bothered me.
My sister had gotten sick the last time she ordered ground beef, so today she specifically asked for chicken. They still gave her ground beef. When she cut into it, a lot of the meat was pink and looked undercooked.
She calmly told the staff, and instead of apologizing or being concerned, two employees laughed while taking the plate away. That was really disrespectful, especially since it was about raw meat.

My mother and I came to this restaurant yesterday, and now we are both sick as a dog.
I woke up with terrible food poisoning, and my mother, who had chicken/steak fajitas, is also ill.
It’s clear that whatever was served back there was not safe, and it was wrong of the restaurant to serve it to customers.
I suspect the beef enchiladas I ate were the cause, as that was the only new thing I had for lunch after a light breakfast.
We’ve been unwell for a full three days, and it’s incredibly disappointing. This restaurant used to be worth the drive and a special experience, but after this, we are no longer interested or satisfied.

The waiter was the absolute worst!. Didnt get silverware, and when I went to ask for silverware, he looked at me up and down TWICE, and turned away from me without saying a thing. My wife and I left right after!. This use to be a go to location for us. Sad about how business is handled now. Posting pics of food but we DID NOT EAT.

Okay this use to be my favorite Mexican restaurant, until tonight! 2/14, I get it Valentine’s Day, so I’m gonna call my food an pick up, now I asked on the phone how long will it be she 25 minutes no problem, checking for food at 30 minutes, still not ready no problem, checking for food again another 30 minutes still not ready, at this point my patients Is kind of running out, about 20 more minutes still nothing okay just give my money back, magically the manger goes to the back, say within 5 minutes here’s your food, do u still want your refund, or you want, your food, give me my refund hunny cause that food been sitting back there, I don’t want that! Now for the lady at the front desk with the clown make up on, you got saved to tonight, cause idk if she was pretending that she don’t speak no dam English, but you looking at me crazy when I’m asking you a simple question, basically ignoring me, being rude, an I know u speak some English I heard u talking, maybe they should hire someone at the front that has some manners, cause she had the right one tonight! Luck was on her side, however I want be going back unless my refund don’t hit my card like it suppose to, I will definitely find another favorite Mexican restaurant!

Food or drinks was nothing like the menu. Asked for a drink and he didn’t tell me that they were out of pineapples until after the fact. Then I asked for a shrimp cocktail and it tasted like Mountain Dew. I will never visit this restaurant again. This place is located in Flowood. But I’ve had better, Lesson learned!!!!!
