This is the greatest (more Tex-mex than authentic) Mexican restaurant in the KC area. Steeped in tradition going back 35+ years. This is a must stop place for delicious burritos, flautas and chimichangas. The white cheese dip is the best anywhere around and the staff is amazing and friendly. The drinks are always ice cold and the margaritas are worth it!!

Chips are lite and crispy. The salsa that comes with the chips are flavorful yet mild.
The spicy is only a little spicy, my mild loving friends could tolerate this.
They don’t do a taco Tuesday and I think that’s a missed opportunity.
The beef tacos were stuffed, unfortunately, the meat is not well seasoned.
The rice is okay.
The refried beans were great!
I visited around 1pm and not many patrons were here.

This was the first time my Wife and I have eaten here. We really enjoyed it. It was busy and we had a 25 minute wait to be seated. We also arrived well into the lunch rush so we expected it. I believe we shared the Hombre meal AND had the nacho appetizer. Wow, a lot of good food. We look forward to our next visit when the restaurant capacity restrictions are gone.

called in today to see what the pricing would be on catering for my wedding of about 50 people. The lady who picked up the catering line was EXTREMELY RUDE, she didn’t give a name so I’m not sure who it was. I had said hi there. I just wanted to call you guys and see if I could talk about catering my wedding and pricing and her response back “OK well my catering guy isn’t even gonna be here until 3 o’clock and it’s lunchtime and we’re extremely busy right now, so not the best time to call about this. Please call us back when our catering guy is in and he’ll be happy to help you” I responded “oh OK I’m sorry” and then she hung up on me. Extremely rude and made me so upset i’m not even going to call back for it. my family and I have been coming here since they have opened this establishment and been there through the loss of the owner and never had a distasteful encounter like this. We have spent endless money here and wanted to spend even more for our wedding and have our favorite restaurant as our wedding cater but now we change our mind I will be finding somewhere else for our Sunday dinners every week. Very sad how everyone has changed since the owner has passed.

My wife and I haven’t been here in about 15 years and once our food arrived, we remember why we haven’t been here in so long. The food is bad, it’s missing….flavor and seasoning. It is blah and boring.
The decor…it looks like they bought their furniture from an old church rummage sale. I asked our waitress, who did a really good job, when was the last time they remodeled and she said two months ago they painted and put in new carpet. We were surprised by this answer. Anyway, they are a lot of great Mexican restaurants in the Kansas City area, this isn’t one of them.

Very good food! From the chips and salsa to even the kids cheeseburger! Our waiter Mitch was absolutely excellent. He even boxed and bagged our food for us when we were done. He was wonderful with the kids and had great recommendations for food.

I took my guys there for lunch. We were all pretty dirty from work so sometimes we’re a bit hesitant to walk into places looking like crap. We walked in and within seconds we were seated and brought water and chips. Our waitress was phenomenal as were the people running around filling salsa, water and chips. Our order was taken and bam here it was. Fast, friendly, delicious and top notch service. I will be back even if I dont have work in the area. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
