Huge soft drink portions, I think you get a litre.
Bathroom was clean, although it did have an odd digital billboard in it. Off-putting!
It was a huge mistake. I couldn’t tell you the waitress’s name – instead of introducing herself to us she just asked if we were drinking (and not in the playful [or even friendly] way) – unfortunately (I guess) we were not. I asked her if there was soup and the response was a curt “it should be there on the specials page” …
We ordered our burgers (which were decent but not good enough to return to such an unwelcoming environment) and with a glass full of ice in front of me (I had finished my soda) I watched whatever-her-name-is check every other table and actively ignore us (she did give me a refill when the food came; my girlfriend didn’t finish hers until halfway through the meal and it was at that point a lost cause) – there was some kind of assistant who hugged the guy at the next table who spilled a drink (even a third came out of the shadows to help with that one) but she never looked in our direction. We finished our food, tipped WAY better than they deserved and left.
There is an argument to be made that that’s what we get for going to a sports bar during a football game. To that I say 1) there was an empty booth (as well as a sign stating that seating would be first come, first served) and the section got more empty as the evening progressed 2) our money is as good as anyone’s – we tried to spend more but they prioritized alcohol consumption (even the stuff that went to waste) above all else and 3) don’t worry, I seriously doubt either of us will ever be coming back
As I mentioned, the burgers did not disappoint and the atmosphere was festive (it would have rated higher if anyone besides the last person we spoke to was the slightest bit polite); just mind your timing if you decide to try them, you might end up getting treated like a homeless couple who wandered in with a “Free Food – non negotiable under penalty of law” coupon and make sure you order some alcohol so you’re not made to feel the least wanted you’ve ever felt in a public establishment that will be presenting you with a bill
Edit: After posting this review I called and spoke to a manager who was very polite, empathetic and understanding. Perhaps another chance isn’t entirely out of the question
