I’m not gonna lie. The food was awful. I was so disappointed to eat here. I remember eating Steak ‘n Shake growing up and being excited to eat there, especially after seeing a movie. . . now id rather eat the popcorn off the floor of the movie theater. It was so gross. Burgers were dry, bacon was flimsy and limp, chicken strips were over cooked and flavorless. The only thing I’d recommend is a milkshake. It was $70+ for my family, which is ridiculous.

Placed an online order at this location for $75 and upon arriving for pickup i was told that they were closing and wouldn’t make my order. It was 9pm but they are open til 12 midnight. When I asked about my refund they said they couldn’t help me and that I would need to speak to the main.manager Carol because Lana the manager on duty couldn’t do it. Closing 3 hours early, not making orders but your system accepted it, manager on site can’t do a refund? Seems this location has more than a few problems. Just want my $75 back for services not rendered. It’s already been 12 hrs and still can’t get my money back.

Not as good as it used to be. Good shakes, but I don’t like the wide straws for them. Excellent French fries. I miss the wait staff and China dishes, as well as a glass of water and malts.

I have had many meals at this steak and shake location at all hours of the day and I never had bad service. When I was on 3rd shift we frequently ate our meal here. The food has always been good, the restaurant has always been clean, and the parking lot is easy to get in and out of for being on a road with a divider in the middle.

Buyer beware. went here at 10:30Pm and person who took the order was incredibly rude. We got to the window and he handed our order to the person that was in front of us. at this point the lady that got our order was behind us and she got out of her car and tried to hand the drive through worker our order and he told her to hand it to us. We asked him to remake it . The man refused to remake anything other than the fries and tried to convince us it would be fine. At this point we asked for a refund and he gave us more attitude. And huffed off to get the manager. They issued the refund and the manager offered to remake it we said okay.. They bring out the order and it was warm but then got our drinks wrong and we looked at the receipt and of course the drive through guy messed that up as well and gave a sweet tea instead of unsweet tea. I will never go back to this location and I hope all who reads this also rethink coming here. The only good thing I have to say was the manager was kind and helpful but that does that does not redeem the absolute incompetentce and attitude of the guy taking orders. Just because he would eat out of the trash that does not mean I would.

I’ve ordered thru DoorDash a few times without issue. Ordered a chili 5 way and received a regular chili Mac, with so much grease it about made me sick. I called the Mt Zion IL location to confirm it came from there, which it did. Manager said I needed to bring it back, as they don’t deliver remakes. The whole point of ordering doordash was to not have to get out. By the time I took this back and get my correct order and returned home, it was 40 minutes. She didn’t offer a discount or anything toward a future purchase. Just handed me my bag, said sorry, and walked away. I get that things happen. But how you respond as a manager to a customer leaves a lasting impression. I miss the old Steak N Shake where you could actually sit down and have somebody wait on you. Now, you get to place your order at a kiosk and pick it up at the window.

This is literally the best steak n shake I ever had! The food was made fast and PERFECT!! The place was clean and the restrooms were clean also. They also had kiosks to make your order inside. Man that food was perfect! I know the picture I took of the burger doesn’t look that good but it was good to me! Keep up the good work!

These guys are amazing! Lineup, the guy taking my order through the intercom, was explaining everything. I don’t come here often, so that really helped. Food was tasty, hot and fresh. Good job guys keep it up!

Although they now use a kiosk for ordering and you pick up your food at the counter ( no wait staff) which makes it very impersonal…the food us still good and not bad prices

First visit since the change to kiosks. No complaints here. Life changed and we had to adapt. No point in taking that out on the staff. Food was exactly what we expected after years of patronage. The lack of breakfast was more of a shocker. Staff even came out to confirm if my strange burger order was perhaps a snafu of the kiosk, so the quality control is there! We will be back!
