Visited in June…and I was blown away! Súper fresh and perfectly seasoned. I’ve read that their clam chowder is great— and that is absolutely correct in this location! We tried their fried shrimp and of course fish and chips. Hot, crispy, not greasy, and yummy! My faves were the clam chowder (and I know my clam chowders coast to coast) and fried shrimp. I would have posted a pic of the clam chowder, but that was devoured. I dream about this meal and wake up saddened since I’m nowhere near this Ivar’s. We will definitely come back again.

Best Fish & Chips this side of somewhere. Nice youngsters running the Joint. If I owned this place I’d definitely rent out half of the Lot to the neighbors lol. Ivars been holding down this spot non Stop for probably 40 years would be my guess!!

I would eat at ivars throughout both my pregnancies in 2024 & 2025. I miss the no frills, fast food at ivars. Would highly recommend to anyone the cocktail sauce is so sweet it reminds me of a steak sauce back in New York (my birth place) called peter lugars. I wish I hadn’t returned to new York, my kids wouldn’t have been abducted and I’d be sitting in Ivar’s eating the fried clams.

I went 5 years without eating eating Ivar’s. My closest fish and chips was from a gas station. No joke I lived in a town of 100 people. And when my wife noticed Green River one of my favorite sodas she asked the cashier if she could buy all of them and he said okay and that made our day even better.

Service was Amazing. We got seated right away, with a nice water view. I ordered the Fish and chips, it came in a Great portion size, and it tastes amazing. Overall this is a great restaurant to go to after a long day of being outdoors.

Hands down the best chain for clam chowder. The clam chowder bowl is amazing with a big amount to eat. The oyster and chips was amazing and huge! The cod and fish was amazing also. Clean place as well. The lady working the front was friendly and helpful. The guy in the kitchen sure can prepare some great food. The cod didn’t have a lot of breading like most fish and chip places do. Great time coming in today. Worth the visit.

It has been a while since I have eaten at an Ivar’s. I have always enjoyed the salmon and fries, the salmon pieces have been a nice size and moist. That was not the case at this particular Ivar’s. Very thin pieces of salmon and very dry. The soda fountain was another problem, going by the taste of the 7-up I think they need to check that the pipes are cleaned out. The server was helpful and gave me another cup to get another drink. All in all it definitely was not a good experience.

I love this Ivar’s as the staff are so friendly and the food is really good and it’s not noisy. (I’m a senior so some places are just too loud for me as I wear hearing aids.)
Also, it’s one of the only places to find Red (Manhattan) Chowder which I love!

Great view, awesome food.
One caveat: we waited half an hour for a table. One waitress led us outside and said only outside table was available or we’d wait for another hour. It was windy outside and my kiddo didnt like it. So we went back to the waiting queue. I then went ahead and told another waitress that we would pass on sitting outside. Then she said we had plenty of indoor tables and we were led to our table. I was not sure why the first person said no while there were plenty of tables – I felt belied.
Overall the food was great. Ordered wild halibut and it was wonderful – decent balance among fish, spinach, and sour milk, plus rice. Definitely worth it!
