Wow, only passing through, stopped for a NYE dinner and didn’t disappoint. Parking lot was very full so we were worried we would have a long wait but got right in. Very attentive servers. Drink was never <3/4 full. I got the tritips and was amazing. The salad buffet was delicious and we brought home so much leftovers. We definitely try to come back this way to try more.

A Real Texas Steakhouse Experience

I had forgotten just how wonderful Nancy’s Steakhouse is, but this visit brought it all rushing back. I ordered the beef tips with mashed potatoes, and they were absolutely fantastic—tender, flavorful, and carrying that slight grilled taste that only comes from true grill mastery. Every bite was perfection.

My husband ordered the redfish along with the salad bar, and he loved every bit of it. The freshness and care in each dish really stand out.

The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a classic Texas steakhouse: warm, inviting, and comfortable. The background music fits the mood perfectly, and the service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed.

Nancy’s Steakhouse is one of those places you’re always happy to rediscover. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Worst chicken fried steak I think I’ve ever had. No seasoning on the meat or the breading. The meat was almost 1/8th of an inch thick, but encased by a thick milk and flour bland breading it wasn’t worth eating. The gravy was warm milk with a dash of flour and nothing else. I had garlic mashed potatoes, but couldn’t taste the garlic or anything else in the potatoes.
My wife got shrimp. She shared some with me and they were good. The salad bar was good also.

I stopped in hoping for a solid steakhouse experience, but unfortunately Nancy’s didn’t deliver. From the food to the overall atmosphere, nothing really stood out in a positive way. For the price and the reputation, I expected better. Columbus has some great spots, but this one just didn’t impress.

I ordered fish and I asked was it catfish and was told it was but it was not! I know how catfish looks and taste, that was some type of cod! I t was good but if you are not sure ask the cook or the manager!!!! I could have been allergic.

This is a steakhouse in Columbus, Texas just South of I-10. Everything is prepared well and they have a great salad bar, which I appreciate as they have become quite rare after Covid.

I had the chicken fried chicken which was tender and had a decent breading that wasn’t too salty like some can be.

I would like to try a ribeye, but that will be for another visit. The waiters were attentive as I never had to get their attention if I needed anything.

Overall a solid restaurant, front and back, I would come back of I were in the area again.

Nancy’s Steakhouse use to be our favorite treat. Food is good. Service is fine. Place is clean. But, last time some of the veggies were not fresh and now the price increases do not justify going. The prices are rising faster than Kamala. What was $20 is now far north of $30. Even the lunch menu prices make you think can you afford this? Too bad, I use to dream about the next time… ☹️

Steak was wonderful with the onions straws. The soup was amazing as well. This is a great place to eat if you are Visiting Eagle Lake Texas. Not very busy and the wait was not long at all.

I was craving a baked potato and a ribeye steak. I really appreciate places that offer smaller steaks. I ordered the smaller ribeye medium rare. It was well to well done. My waiter offered to get me another, but I declined. I wish I had gotten another. By the time I finished, the steak seemed dry. How can a steak house not know how to cook a steak medium rare? The salad and loaded baked potato were great. I had their bread pudding for desert and it was fabulous. Service was great. Dining room was freezing cold! That’s why 3 stars for atmosphere.

Food was actually quite good. The service however was poor. Waiter barely acknowledged us, we saw him twice- I had to get up and literally flag down the waiter to take our order after 10 minutes of sitting there. Only two other parties in the place. After being served we were never approached and again had to go the hostess stand to get our bill. The group of servers were in a side hallway talking the whole time.
