Beware the hotness scale. Medium and below is what I would go with.
I was hyped for hotboys. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty but with the price point and the seating on the road you are better off going to super duper.
The crinkle cut fries were ok. The chicken tenders were juicy but not out of this world.
The coleslaw in the sandwich was good and the pickles work well to cut the spice. The bun could have been better as well as toasted.
All in all I will probably return for a fried chicken craving.

This shop just screams Oakland, y’all. Between the mural, the colors, and the volume of people waiting for their orders, you know you’re somewhere good food is made. Order at the window and wait your turn. It may take around 20 minutes as they are popular and they take their time making those good eats.
The “sando” is offered with dark meat while the “chicken tender sandwich” is white meat, which is what I prefer so that’s what I’ve tried. They offer seven different spice rankings and recommend Medium + for folks who like it spicy. That’s what I chose, along with a delicious watermelon aqua fresca.
I do like heat, but I think the Medium + is a good call as an upper limit—I was crying, and that’s rare for me. Crying in a good way, of course! But there were moments when I thought I may have aimed too high . . . what I’m saying is I’m glad I resisted the Hot.
Serving coleslaw on the sandwich is key, as its creaminess has a tempering effect on the spice. The pickles add flavor, but I do think there may be too much “money sauce” squirted on top. I did appreciate the sauce’s creamy assistance in battling the spice, however! The sauce tasted like a chipotle and 1000 Island blend. The pickles were good, but the bun bread was just okay for me.
That chicken meat is tender and plentiful, which is sometimes a feat for white meat and definitely a plus.

Good food and great customer service. Outdoor seating only and one gender neutral bathroom available for patrons. Their chicken sandwich is good but I really like the loaded fries. They do NOT play with their spice levels. Take it easy if you can’t handle it. Have some milk on standby if you decide to challenge your palette. Enjoy!

Fresh hot chicken, straight from the oil, which keeps it very moist. They use the thigh (tender is also available and is cheaper) for their signature sando. The fries are nothing special, but you do get a generous serving of curly fries with some spice dusting, and they provide plenty of their signature sauce on the side. Outdoor seating only, which makes it dog friendly, but difficult on rainy days and/or nighttime in this sketchy neighborhood (our car got broken into only a few blocks away). The loud music playing right in your ears doesn’t help. Overall, good place for a quick bite, especially when when in a rush, but nothing more.

Simply delicious fried chicken sandwiches here, big chunks of chicken, tasty pickle, and your choice of spice level. There’s limited seating so it’s perfect as a to go option. Around lunchtime it can get busy so it’s good to order ahead online.
It was so good I forgot to take a photo until after the first bite. That is how you know it’s good.

There is a long wait for the food. The person standing at the front does not call out the names as orders become ready. So your food is sitting in the window and you have to return to the desk to ask them each time. Is your food ready. I don’t understand why he doesn’t call out the names as the food becomes available. Customers would like to have their food hot. And by doing that you’re causing more people to congregate at the front desk. The people waiting to order the people waiting for their food and the people who have to keep coming back to ask if the food is ready. Nobody wants to eat cold fries.

Alright bro this is an institution. Has potential to have a cult following like in n out but stays personal, culturally relevant, and for the community. The food is amazing obviously probably the best chicken around, but it’s really the people. The people that eat here and the people that run this place. The owners take care of their people and their community.

A small hole in the wall place with limited outdoor sitting, serving spicy dishes. We ordered a Take Away, they did not pack a part of the order and we check after reaching home. You may try for once.

This place could use some cleaning n polish, the outside table with old taped ditto like menus blocking access to the bathroom is like being at someone’s garage sale in the hood. Other than that the guy taking your order looks gruff but seemed really nice and helpful. The food was on spot, the chicken sando we got was big enough for us to split and was spot on delicious. We got the mild and are probably glad. We were hoping the people in front of us in line who ordered the hot hot would have eaten it in front of us so we could share in their experience.

Probably one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve had in the bay area. Super juicy and flavorful, and even their low spice options had tons of flavor. The mac and cheese was also great, loved the cherry peppers in them.
Not much place to sit and eat, but great for takeaway. Cashier was also super nice
