Leaving an honest review- did not receive anything for this. We dined at Uni for the first time this evening with a large party of 9. It took a minute for us to be able to place our order- but the food came out timely and hot! Everything we ate was delicious. We ordered two Godzilla rolls, a Benton box with chicken teriyaki, a bowl of ramen, a plate of chicken teriyaki, and a dinner special for my kids to share. Will definitely be visiting again!

One of my favorite sushi places in MI! Service is always great for dine in. The fish is very high quality. I recommend salmon, spartan, and samurai rolls. I would get Uni multiple times a week while I was a student at MSU. The best!

Stopped into Uni Sushi over the weekend with a friend to celebrate her birthday, and it was such a lovely experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—several people stopped by to wish her a happy birthday, and they even surprised us with a delicious banana birthday treat! The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant itself is charming and cozy with cute décor, twinkly lights, and a really positive atmosphere. This was my second visit and I’ll definitely be back!

I LOVE this place. I’m a senior at MSU and have visited this place multiple times over my 4 years. My boyfriend and I booked a reservation for valentine’s day and the food was delicious!! I ordered the spartan roll, miso soup, and crab rangoon appetizer and my boyfriend also got the miso soup and a bento box. For being packed for valentine’s day, the staff was super friendly and attentive. I would 100% recommend this place!!

Also, the plate was chipped, and the soy sauce container was broken.
The food is good, but for the prices, I would expect more than 3 pieces of meat in the ramen.
Lastly, they had an offer where you could get free food for posting a 5 star review, which inflates the score.

First dinner at Uni was awesome! I got to try some sparkling sake which was delicious! Small restaurant, large menu. Only complaint would be timing of food, it took almost 30 minutes for the first entree to come after the appetizer, then there was about a twenty minute gap between receiving the bento box and the sushi – it was a busy night, I understand things take longer. Overall food was great! Everyone was very kind and I can’t wait to go back!

We visited this restaurant because of the many high ratings, but the reality was extremely disappointing. The food quality was poor, the ingredients were cheap, and the service was unfriendly. Even worse, a broken plate was served at our table — completely unacceptable from both a safety and professional standpoint.
It is also very concerning that many 5-star reviews appear to be linked to free items in exchange for positive feedback. This practice is misleading to customers and may qualify as deceptive business practices under U.S. consumer protection law. Such behavior is not only unethical but also potentially illegal.
As paying customers who trusted those reviews, we feel deceived. I expect the owner of this establishment to contact me directly and explain how this situation will be addressed. I think we were 100% scammed and I want actions to be taken on my situation!!!!

We were so delighted to find this little gem of a sushi restaurant! It’s not easy to find a place that works for our whole family—my husband and I aren’t big sushi fans and we both need to eat gluten free. Our daughter also needs to eat gluten free, but she loves sushi, as do our other kids. This was the first time we’ve all been able to go out together and truly enjoy a meal. One request is that I would love a bowl of gluten-free ramen!
The menu had a great selection of items that could be made gluten free, including some hibachi options, which was such a pleasant surprise. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. It was a wonderful experience, and we’re so glad to have found a place where everyone can eat happily and safely.
