We headed down to the shops in Alpharetta planning to eat somewhere else, but when our original restaurant was slammed, we decided to try Marlow’s Tavern instead—and we were so glad we did.
Despite how incredibly busy it was, they were able to seat our party of six surprisingly quickly, which already set things off on the right foot.
For drinks, we ordered the Bourbon Smash and the New Fashioned. The Bourbon Smash was bright, citrusy, and super refreshing. The New Fashioned was made with Rhum Clément Canne—a totally different twist than expected, but really, really good.
For an appetizer, we shared the Seared Beef Carpaccio, made with Snake River Wagyu. It came topped with dijonnaise, Parmesan, crispy capers, and chives—and let me tell you, this was a full-on flavor explosion. Absolutely delicious. We’re honestly probably going to start making crispy capers at home and eating like popcorn.
Almost everyone ordered either a Classic Tavern Burger or the Chicken Panini, while one person chose the Ahi Tuna Poke as their meal.
The Ahi Tuna Poke was phenomenal—fresh, light, and incredibly tender, with a sauce that delivered a perfect hit of umami. And those fried wontons? DUH-LISH-US. Light, crispy, salty perfection.
The burgers were cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned to absolute perfection. I know people say “it’s just a burger,” but this one truly wasn’t just a burger—they absolutely nailed it.
The Chicken Panini featured basil aioli, arugula, tomato, crispy queso fresco, and toasted focaccia. The chicken was unbelievably juicy, and everything about the sandwich felt balanced and fresh.
We were genuinely stunned that a restaurant this busy was putting out food of this quality so consistently.
On top of that, our server was amazing—completely on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed or overlooked, even with the packed dining room.
Overall: a fantastic experience, incredible food, great service, and a place we will happily return to. Highly recommend.

Wow the food and service was phenomenal!! I ordered the special surf and turf and it was absolutely perfect. The chef also came out 2 times to our table to see how we liked the food. He was so sweet and I was just really impressed with him and he clearly knows how to cook. My son’s steak was perfect too. Our server Courtney was absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for impeccable service and your kindness. So impressed and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you for a great night!

8-9-25 – Because we’ve eaten at other locations, we wanted to try Marlowe’s at Avalon. It didn’t take long to be seated. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and made some good recommendations, was accommodating and was good listener. Because there are no frozen drinks here, we selected other options on the menu, along with shrimp and crab dip for appetizer. My wife got the hot wings and potato chips and chicken sandwich with blue cheese and bacon added with truffle cheese fries . The drinks and appetizers didn’t take too long. Our server asked about our drinks. I mentioned mine didn’t taste as expected, wasn’t sweet, etc. Before I knew it the manager came over, and after inquiring had something made more to my liking. The appetizer was great and a short time later the food arrived. All, especially the service was as great as advertised. Job well done all staff involved (greeters, servers, managers, deliverers, etc). I would highly recommend this location. And thanks to our server after some questioning recognized my birthday with a terrimasu dessert . We enjoyed the atmosphere and our stay at this location

Went there yesterday (on Sunday) for lunch with a friend. They were all so nice, and even comped us a super awesome nacho bowl (gauc, bacon, cheese, the works) ! I think because they realized the food would be a quite a wait (all the tables got filled within 5 minutes of us walking in), but it was very sweet of them! Great taste, and absolutely great service! Will definitely be going back

As vegetarians visiting Avalon, we weren’t sure what to expect, but Marlow’s Tavern did not disappoint! Their chips, veg lasagna, and veggie burger were absolutely delicious—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Pairing it all with a cold beer made for an amazing meal. The atmosphere was great, and the service was fantastic. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!

I really enjoy coming here. I give it a 3 because the service is not great (I give 5 if it is an impressively high quality experience all around, 4 for good food/good service, 3 is for good food/bad service or vice versa lol). It’s not rude service, just poor (slow, forgetful, inattentive, etc). But I like the food so I deal. The food quality does vary by location and this is a fairly consistent location so this is the only one I continue to go to. The food is always very fresh and the flavors are well balanced. The shrimp & grits is something everyone (without allergies) should try at least once. It was not something I would ever expect to be high ranking on my list but it is insanely good and may very well be one of their best dishes.

A crowded and bustling place on a Wednesday afternoon, however there was no waiting for a table as there are many tables as this place is huge and spacious. The service was quick and efficient. It’s a good bar for drinks with family n friends. We enjoyed our meal a tad bit salty and greasy fries especially the avacoda ones. Good to hang here
