This place is absolutely my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Southside Fort Worth.
Always great food,atmosphere,service and prices.
The people are absolutely awesome and always wonderful to do business with.
The wife and our two children a six year old son and a teen daughter as well as our ranch hand stopped in here last night for some dinner and a few drinks after Mecum car auction.
Everyone loved the whole experience especially the flaming queso Supremo.
The food and drinks were all very good.
This restaurant actually makes me miss this part of Texas because of the awesome food, drinks and atmosphere.

Great service and friendly people but the seafood not so good. You might want to try another dish they have on the menu.

It was decent. I wasn’t a fan of the flour tortillas. The brisket was fresh. The beans were good. The margarita was good.

I haven’t been to this restaurant in years. I went with my mom and we had such a great evening. The service was amazing, the food was really good that I want to come back to try more. Their tea is exceptional… I’m a bit of an iced tea connoisseur and they have great tea. There’s nothing more that I hate than old nasty tasting tea…. But play Amaya’s tea is amazing. And another thing I appreciate it was when it comes to the service, everybody seems to help out each other, so even though you do have your assigned waiter, the manager will sometimes check with your table to see if you need anything, and other waiters will also help each other out even when it’s at their table. Again service was top notch.

Per typical fashion, we were served chips and salsa. I forget what the plate is called but it’s the cheese enchiladas with the chile con carne topping. They were very good, the rice was good, the beans were good. We also got the queso and that was nice and simple and tasty. I definitely want to come back because everything was great about this restaurant. The ambiance is really nice and cozy.
** The only thing I would change is the salsa. For me it’s not hot enough, it’s too mild and it has a little bit of a cumin taste that I’m not a big fan of. But I would say that’s my only gripe. It’s definitely not enough to keep me away though. It’s just a small little detail.

Anna was our server she was friendly and helpful. Table side guacamole was delicious and Flambo Cheese as well. Our seafood was fresh and tasty and the presentation was great. Pina Colada was tasty but icy and difficult to drink.

This location is smaller, quieter, and has a more “hole in the wall” type feel than the location I’ve been to off Camp Bowie. The food was tasty, salsa was yummy (warning… it’s a bit on the spicy side!), and service was great. Grab a pecan praline while you’re there if you like them because theirs are SO good!

Their chips and salsa is very good. The food was served fast. There was some misunderstanding with the order. Portions were well served, and the food was tasty. We ordered beef fajitas and flautas, and for dessert flan and sopapillas. We enjoyed our desserts.

Update: Last night I went to eat at Playa Maya Stockyards with my family who’s visiting from out of town. I loved this place before so I went back. Based on my review before, the manager was very nice and accommodating and definitely made the past experience right. I will continue eating here and recommending it to anyone who visits me from anywhere. 10/10. Fish tacos are the best.

They should really specify that this is what $17 dollars large nachos with beef is when ordering for delivery. Absolutely horrible. Waited over 1.5 hours for this, too. Do not order delivery/Uber eats from here.

Absolutely amazing experience at La Playa Mexican Restaurant! The moment you step in, you’re welcomed with a warm, friendly atmosphere that instantly feels like home. The food is simply outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and always served fresh. The fajitas are a must-try, bursting with flavor, and the homemade salsa is the best in town. The service is top-notch; the staff is attentive, kind, and makes you feel like family. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience in Fort Worth, La Playa off Hemphill is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back!

Haven’t been here for a while, but have been coming here for decades. I must say, it is as good if not better than it has always been! The food is fantastic, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is great. I don’t give out many 5 stars, but this place deserves it!!!
