Went Friday early afternoon, pretty busy, but much of a wait to order. Long line, however it moved. The bands were good and had great experience. Free refills for soda is great. But NO lids. My little ones handle the cups without a lids. Poor planning. Bring your own sipping cups.

I made the trip out to Gillett for some authentic Texas-style BBQ and were blown away! The brisket was perfectly smoked—tender, juicy, with that amazing bark and deep flavor from the wood pit. No sauce needed, though their house sauce is solid too.
The pulled pork was just as good, and the smoked chicken had great seasoning. Sides like the cowboy potatoes were hearty and delicious. Portions are generous, and everything felt fresh and high-quality.
Love that they do meat sticks too (grabbed some brisket ones to take home—perfect high-protein snack). The place has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with live music on weekends, and it’s family-friendly. Staff was super friendly and quick.
If you’re into real-deal barbecue in northern Wisconsin, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back—highly recommend!

Got the 3 meat platter, deep fried deviled eggs and brisket Mac and cheese and EVERYTHING was excellent!! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.

Before we even get to the food, be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait some more. Regardless how you feel about the food, the wait time to eat the food is ridiculous. I ordered food online at 605 and was given a 650 pickup time. Got there and had to wait almost another hour for the food.
With this type of wait, you’d think the food would be on another level. But it’s not. Absolute waste of $60. I’d you like good BBQ, you won’t find it here. Not sure any “award winning” bbq lives here, but you will find burnt ends swimming in sauce (masking and of the flavor of the burnt end!), soggy bun on the Ruben. Fries terrible.

I recently went to eat at primal eats with my wife and in-laws. Overall, the environment was very nice. There was a band playing and great outdoor seating. There is also a nice playground for kids to stay busy. However, the line to order food was about 45 minutes long since the self-order station ran out of food buzzers. My wife ordered the brisket plate, I got the burnt ends and my mother in law ordered the brisket Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious and so were the burnt ends. The brisket was a little fatty, but had great flavor. The cowboy potatoes were great, but a little too sweet for my liking and the baked beans were very bbq tasting. The bbq sauce options, in my opinion felt limited- original BBQ, mango habanero, sweet Tennessee, and spicy. I was not overly impressed with the sauces. The alcoholic beverage options were diverse and the drinks were delicious. My wife got a sweet red, I got a rum punch, and my in laws got old fashions.

The smoked meats were all tender and juicy. The Mac & cheese with brisket was delicious. Ordered a pepperoni/sausage pizza which the kids enjoyed. Would have been nice if we had more BBQ sauce choices. Overall a great dine in experience would recommend!

The food here is fantastic and the atmosphere is awesome. Such a fun and unique place to visit! My only concern is for the donkeys on site; their hooves looked quite overgrown and could use some attention. I hope they’re getting the care they need, because everything else about Primal Eats is truly great!
