Shakey’s Pizza – A Legacy I Finally Got to Taste
After 34 years of living in Lathrop, California, I finally made the six-hour drive to experience something incredibly personal—Shakey’s Pizza.
This wasn’t just any pizza stop. It was a journey tied to family, legacy, and memory. My dad was a General Manager at Shakey’s Pizza, and growing up, I was surrounded by stories of the place—how much pride he took in running it, how it brought people together, and how it wasn’t just about the food, but the atmosphere, the service, the community.
Ironically, despite it being such a big part of his life, I had never actually tasted Shakey’s Pizza myself. Until now.
Walking into the restaurant and seeing the history on the walls—the 1954 roots in Sacramento, the evolution through the decades—I felt a deep connection. I wasn’t just seeing a brand. I was stepping into my dad’s world. And when I finally took that first bite, it was everything I hoped it would be: crispy crust, flavorful sauce, melty cheese, and the kind of warmth you only get from a place that understands tradition.
This wasn’t just about pizza. It was about honoring my dad’s legacy, reconnecting with something that had always been part of our family story, and finally filling in the one piece I had missed: the taste.
Thank you, Shakey’s Pizza, for still being here—still delivering joy, flavor, and memories. This was more than a meal. It was a long-awaited, full-circle moment I’ll never forget.

Buffet lunch special 15 bucks can’t beat that! salad pasta pizza and my favorite Mojos! Plus they have dessert. Cool part I went right when they opened so you literally just tell them which pizza you want and they make it. I’ve always loved shakeys!! And still do.

I was amazed! Everything tasted great and was re filled promptly I think I waited maybe a minute and a half for some fresh fried chicken when the tray was empty! Kudos shakeys! This fried chicken took the 2nd place spot in my line up easy! Second to none other than church’s chicken I loved this place and we were able to buy the buffet which we did not know they had so it was a pleasant surprise we literally spent a few dollars more than expected and were able to have buffet style instead of just one meal deal for the fam! I highly recommend this spot as a visitor from out of town I feel we got excellent quality for an exceptional value! Thank you shakeys!

Today was my first time at this location, I normally go to the one in La Palma. The food was great but what made the visit amazing was the service. Hany and Karen were so awesome. It’s rare to see people who seem happy to be helping you and I really appreciated that! I’ll be going to this location from now on!

The staff failed to ask delivery driver to confirm uber eats’s order. The order got stolen and they refused to remake the order.
And after failing to prepare the order for the customer, the restaurant/staff who was working on 12/11/2025 at 6:00PM shift contact uber to falsified report that the driver was stolen the order. It’s dishonesty to the finest.
You can check the camera at that time and the staff was saying someone was picking up which is no big deal but failure to prepare food for the customer is one thing, trying to get someone losing job by lying is entirely different thing.
If anyone want to support this behavior, just ignore this review then.

Location is very spacious, clean, and great for gatherings. Staff friendly they work hard to bring out food at a good timely manner, considering how busy they are. Pizza was delicious and not to mention about the chicken and the mojó potatoes.

The quality has dropped a lot since covid. We used to love their pizza and mojos, but have not been in a while.
The pizza was greesy and not good. The cheese tasted off.
Mojos were good.
Unfortunately, we will not be back as there are much better pizza places nearby unless something drastic happens and their quality goes back up.

Visited from Texas. The pizza is good. The fried chicken was amazing!! It was very busy at lunch time. There wasn’t enough plates at one point.
