Acclaimed dry-aged steaks served in a posh, wood-paneled dining room, plus live jazz in the bar.

wow this place was extremely disappointing. the food was pretty average. steak was ok and the vegetables were almost a joke. peas with shredded carrots? the scalloped potatoes were good but my friends got the baked potato and said it was soooo mid. not only that but the service was lacking so much hospitality. you go to a nice restaurant for the vibes and the service and told them we were there celebrating my friends birthday and they didn’t even wish him a happy birthday or anything. it’s almost like they wanted us to be done and leave. we came in as a group of young adults and didn’t feel like we were well respected as we should have been.
on top of that, you add in the price point and it’s basically a full on robbery. should’ve waited to get a spot at HOPR

Went here with friends the other day and had one of the best meals ever. My steak was cooked perfectly. The Baked Alaskan I had for dessert and it was just heavenly.

Service was phenomenal
Food was okay
Dessert was pretty
Our spinach salad had too many overcooked bacon. It’s nice to have crunchy and salty bacon bits but it’s way too much. Spinach salad was the best part of our dinner but it wasn’t something extraordinary special.
In terms of steak, we expected bit more from the $100 porterhouse steak. Shared it with my husband. It seems big but subtracting the bone, it’s about 800g, good amount for two. Our steak was tad dry. We got potato gratin and asparagus for the sides. Both were good but nothing extraordinary. All in all it was a good meal but not a memorable steak.
Dessert looked so pretty I wanted to get it as soon as walked in and saw it on others table. However, it was an okay dessert nothing amazing. The best thing on the cake was the strawberry. Perhaps if passion fruit sauce had more flavor, it could’ve been very tasty. Instead of more cream on top, they could’ve topped it with icecream or a sorbet. It seemed as if something was missing.

Harris is an iconic San Francisco restaurant. Last time I was there was in the 80’s! We ordered the onion rings for an appetizer, the rings were huge and crunchy without being oily. We had the ribeye and the prime rib, both were cooked to perfection. We tried the black Manhattan–what a tasty cocktail!

My first experience in this restaurant managing a small event was very pleasant. The staff was very accommodating, the ambiance was great, the food was great and it’s spacious and beautiful inside with an old San Francisco Steakhouse that makes it more classy and classic. I would definitely go back there and I even recommended this restaurant to be included in our “go back” list for future events in the city.

Had an exceptional time here! We’re not big spenders but we decided to splurge for my birthday and it was so worth it. The service was superb, the food was perfect, and my server helped me pick out a scotch. They even brought me a delicious complimentary mousse!

A local institution for over 40 years, Harris Steakhouse is a lovely restaurant in the Nob Hill neighborhood. My wife loved her bourbon Manhattan and my bourbon old fashioned was crafted like they did when the place opened complete with muddled old school cherries. Proper drinks at premium prices. The onion rings were classic old school steakhouse style. Cooked and seasoned perfectly with no onion worms while eating. My wife’s 2 and a half pound lobster with meat pulled from the shell was delicious. As were the steamed clams that accompanied it. Her mashed potatoes were weak and the sautéed spinach was tasty. My Harris cut NY strip was disappointing as it was tough and the knife not sharp enough. I expected better certainty more tender meat than I was served. The $3 up charge on 3 tiny pieces of asparagus wasn’t worth it. The baked potato was perfect. Service was generally outstanding except for the drink specialist with the hard sell all night and quick hook on our mixed drink glasses. Dessert was crème brûlée and delicious cappuccinos.

We tried the porterhouse, prime rib, and salmon. The meats were underwhelming and not worth the price. The salmon’s sauce was overly thick and heavy, and the sides were just okay. Presentation could definitely use improvement.
Overall, very disappointed with the food. We’ve had much better steaks and overall dining experiences at other steakhouses in the area, including better service.
To make matters worse, our table was disturbed while staff attempted to clean nearby. They left a mess and did not offer an apology or clean it up.
That said, they did bring out a complimentary mousse for my husband’s birthday, which was an appreciated gesture.

Steakhouse? This place just feels like a gimmick. Sat at the bar and was unlucky enough to have to listen to long ended conversation by the staff about their paycheck’s, changes made to the pos etc. I did not come here for that. Filet was dry and bland. Baked potato, same, dry! How is it cool that someone served the baked potato toppings? Just give me the toppings and let me make my own. Also rub some olive oil, salt and pepper on the skin. I’ve had a better baked potato at Denny’s. Side veg was a joke. After my food was dropped off, no one asked how was my food, if I needed anything, nothing. Best part was the bread! Will never dine here again. Come if you like a pretend steakhouse.
